Marie-Renée Frossard
Marie-Renée Frossard, née ''Malter'', was a French ballerina with an international career. She was active in Sweden in 1764–76, where she was regarded as one of the stars of the Royal Swedish Ballet. Marie-Renée Frossard was married to her colleague Louis Frossard. She was engaged at the Comédie-Italienne in Paris in 1757, in Vienna in 1759 and in Brussels in 1761–62. From 1764 until 1770, she and her spouse were engaged at the Du Londel Troupe in Sweden, where they were regarded as two of the most noted members. The French theater was dissolved by Gustav III of Sweden in 1771, who wished to establish a native theater, opera and ballet. When the Swedish Royal ballet was founded in 1773, however, there were almost no native ballet dancers at all, with the exception of the very few, such as Charlotte Slottsberg, who had been trained in the French theater. Marie-Renée Roudaut (3 March 1847 - 18 October 1930) was a Catholic missionary nun. With the name Mother Marie-Salomé she was the first Superior General of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa (White Sisters). Early years Marie-Renée Roudaut was born in Guissény, Brittany, France, on 3 March 1847 to a farming family. She was the sixth child of René Roudaut and Marie-Jeanne Lessec. Her cousin was one of the first nuns to go to Algeria to assist the Archbishop of Algeria, Charles Lavigerie, in running the diocesan orphanages. Her cousin could not complete her novitiate due to poor health, but returned to Brittany where she talked to Roudaut, who decided to join the congregation. Missionary In October 1871 Roudaut left for the Postulate of Vans, at the age of twenty four. On 26 January 1874 she arrived in Algeria where she was assigned to the orphanage of St Charles at Kouba, Algeria, now a suburb of Algiers. Marie-Renée Ucciani (27 March 1883 – 19 February 1963) was a French painter and sculptor. A member of the Société des Artistes Français, she exhibited in its Salon in the 1930s. Biography Marie-Renée Ucciani was born in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris on 27 March 1883. Her father was , a painter, jeweler and goldsmith. Her mother, Hortense (née Bégard), was an heiress and the manager of an important jeweler and goldsmith business, "Bégard H. et Cie". In May 1903, she married Georges Baudy (1880-1960), who took over the business, "Bégard H. et Cie" on 8 February 1911. Their youngest daughter died at the age of two following a fall in the Tuileries Garden, which destabilized the marriage. Ucciani divorced and tried to forget this tragedy by painting and sculpting.
