Marica (mythology)
In Roman mythology, Marica was a nymph, the mother of Latinus. Latinus was fathered by Faunus, who was also occasionally referred to as the son of Marica. The sacred forest near Minturnae was dedicated to Marica. A lake nearby was also named after her. Maricá () is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. Geography Maricá is a city of the Rio de Janeiro Metropolitan Area, located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and 25 miles away from the city of Rio de Janeiro. The municipality contains part of the Serra da Tiririca State Park, created in 1991. Population Area Its area is 362,571 km2. Maritsa or Maritza ( bg, Марица ), also known as Meriç ( tr, Meriç ) and Evros ( ell, Έβρος ), is a river that runs through the Balkans in Southeast Europe. Erebia
''Erebia'' is a Holarctic genus of brush-footed butterflies, family Nymphalidae. Most of the about 90–100 species (see also below) are dark brown or black in color, with reddish-brown to orange or more rarely yellowish wing blotches or bands. These usually bear black spots within, which sometimes have white center spots. This genus has found it easy to adapt to arid and especially cold conditions. Most of its members are associated with high-altitude lands, forest clearings or high latitude and tundra. ''Erebia'' species are frequent in the Alps, Rocky Mountains, subarctic and even Arctic regions, and the cooler parts of Central Asia. In fact, the North American term for these butterflies is alpines. Palearctic species are collectively known as ringlets or arguses. However, none of these terms is used exclusively for this genus. Sérgio Silva de Souza Júnior (born 24 September 1979), better known as Maricá, is a Brazilian former professional footballer, who played as a right back. Career Player of the under-17 team at the 1995 World Cup, he had a meteoric rise at Vasco, standing out mainly in the 1997 Campeonato Brasileiro campaign. He played for several years at Vasco, accumulating titles, but after being sold to AEK Athens, he was unable to repeat his previous achievements, moving from club to club over the years.
