Mariano Del Castillo
Mariano C. del Castillo (born July 29, 1949) is a former associate justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. After graduating from San Beda College, Del Castillo pursued law studies at the Ateneo de Manila University. He joined the judiciary in 1989 as a Municipal Trial Court judge of San Mateo, Rizal before he was promoted as a Regional Trial Court judge of Angeles City in 1992, and later as a Regional Trial Court judge of Quezon City in 1995, where he was appointed First Vice-Executive Judge. He was appointed as a CA justice in 2001. He was active in the Philippine Judges Association, where he served as director, vice-president for administration, senior vice-president, and executive vice-president. Teresita "Tess" Leonardo-De Castro (born Teresita Jose Leonardo; October 10, 1948) is a Filipina who served as the 24th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines; appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte on August 28, 2018. She assumed the vacated position since her predecessor, Maria Lourdes Sereno, was removed via a ''quo warranto'' petition (by declaring Sereno a ''de facto'' chief justice and making her 2012 appointment null and void ''ab initio''); making De Castro the ''de jure'' 24th chief justice, making her the official first female chief justice of the Supreme Court. An associate justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines ( fil, Kasangguning Mahistrado ng Kataas-taasang Hukuman ng Pilipinas) is one of fifteen members of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, the highest court in the Philippines. The Chief Justice presides over the high court, but carries only one of the 15 votes in the court. Traditionally, the Chief Justice is deemed ''primus inter pares'' ("first among equals") among the justices. Until 1973, only men were appointed as Associate Justices to the Court. Reynato Puno
Reynato Puno y Serrano, KGCR (Filipino: ''Reynato Serrano Puno''; born May 17, 1940) is a Filipino jurist. He served as the 22nd Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines from December 8, 2006 by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo until his mandatory retirement on May 17, 2010. Puno had initially been appointed to the Supreme Court as an Associate Justice on June 28, 1993. Renato Tereso Antonio Coronado Corona (October 15, 1948 – April 29, 2016) was a Filipino judge who was the 23rd chief justice of the Philippines from 2010 to 2012. Maria Lourdes "Meilou" Aranal Sereno (; born Maria Lourdes Punzalan Aranal; July 2, 1960) is a Filipina lawyer and judge who served as de facto chief justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines from 2012 until her removal in 2018. Lucas Purugganan Bersamin (born October 18, 1949) is a Filipino lawyer and jurist who currently serves as the Executive Secretary of the Philippines.
