Marianne Curley
Marianne Curley, (born 20 May 1959) is an Australian author best known for her Guardians of Time Trilogy and Old Magic books. Life According to her official biography, Marianne Curley formerly lived in Coffs Harbour, on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales (Australia). She is married with three children. In 2004, Curley battled Myeliofibrosis also known as bone marrow cancer. Curley received a life saving stem-cell bone marrow transplant from her sister. The Named
''The Named'' is a fantasy novel written by Marianne Curley. It is the first book in the Guardians of Time Trilogy. Ethan is a member of The Named who is training his new apprentice, Isabel, under the guidance of his mentor Arkarian. Narration As with all of the Guardians of Time books, the prologue is written in third person while all the chapters are written in first person, switching points of view between the two narrators. The two narrators are Ethan and Isabel. They are together for most of the book. Setting The story is set in Angel Falls, which is located above the fictional ancient city of Veridian. Angel Falls is a small, fictional town set near the Australian bush. The description of the high schools implies that the town is smaller than average. The Shadow is a fictional character published by magazine publishers Street & Smith and writer Walter B. Gibson. Originally created to be a mysterious radio show narrator, and developed into a distinct literary character in 1931 by writer Walter B. Gibson, The Shadow has been adapted into other forms of media, including American comic books, comic strips, television, serials, video games, and at least five feature films. The radio drama included episodes voiced by Orson Welles. The Shadow First appearance, debuted on July 31, 1930, as the mysterious narrator of the radio program ''Detective Story Hour'', which was developed to boost sales of Street & Smith's monthly pulp ''Detective Story Magazine''.
