Maria Malyjasiak is a Polish Judoka, submission grappler and Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) black belt competitor. A former Poland National Judo Team and Poland National Grappling Team member, Malyjasiak is a BJJ black belt Pan-American (gi and no-gi) Champion, European Open Champion and a World IBJJF and ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship medallist. Malyjasiak is ranked No. 4 in the heavyweight 2022-2023 IBJJF Gi Ranking. Career Maria Malyjasiak was born on 2 March 1989 in Gdańsk, Poland. In 2002 she started learning Judo while at school, her training took her to the Poland National Judo Team and Poland National Grappling Team, ultimately competing for the Judo team as a U17 and U20 athlete. ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship
The ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship, is an international submission grappling competition, organised by the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC). The inaugural tournament was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1998. It has been held every two years since, except in 2021 due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Host countries have included Brazil, China, Finland, Spain, the UK, and the US. Competitors can only participate after winning ADCC trials or by invitation. The World IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship (commonly known as the Worlds or Mundials) is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held once every year by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. Submission wrestling, also known as Submission grappling, Submission fighting a form of competition and a general term for martial arts and combat sports that focus on clinch and ground fighting with the aim of obtaining a submission through the use of submission holds. The term "submission wrestling" usually refers only to the form of competition and training that does not use a '' gi'', or "combat kimono", of the sort often worn with belts that establish rank by color, though some may use the loose trousers of such a uniform, without the jacket.
