Maria Magdalena Dumitrache
Maria Magdalena Dumitrache (born 3 May 1977) is a Romanian rower, who won gold at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She first competed as an elite rower at the 1998 World Rowing Championships where she came fifth with the women's four, and won gold with the women's eight. She retained the world championship title at the 1999 World Rowing Championships. Târgoviște (, alternatively spelled ''Tîrgoviște''; german: Tergowisch) is a city and county seat in Dâmbovița County, Romania. It is situated north-west of Bucharest, on the right bank of the Ialomița River. Rowing is the act of propelling a human-powered watercraft using the sweeping motions of oars to displace water and generate reactional propulsion. The World Rowing Cup is an international rowing competition organized by FISA (the International Rowing Federation).
