Maria Luisa Doseva-Georgieva
Maria Luisa Doseva-Georgieva ( bg, Мария-Луиза Досева-Георгиева; 8 September 1894 – 11 April 1975) was one of the first two women licensed as an architect in Bulgaria. She built many well-known sites in the city of Burgas, including the Boulevard Hotel, the residence of , many commercial buildings, as well as schools. In 1968, she was awarded a gold badge and made an honorary member of the . Early life Maria Luisa Doseva was born on 8 September 1894 in Targovishte, Bulgaria to Konstantin Dosev, a banker and merchant who served in the National Assembly for several terms. She completed her primary and lower secondary education in Targovishte, before entering high school in Veliko Tarnovo. Upon her graduation from high school, in Varna, she received recognition from the Ministry of Education. Targovishte
Targovishte ( bg, Търговище, also transliterated ''Tǎrgovište'', , tr, Eski Cuma) is a city in Bulgaria, the administrative and economic capital of Targovishte Province. It is situated at the northern foot of the low mountain of Preslav on both banks of the Vrana River. The town is north-east of the capital Sofia and about west of the city of Varna and the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Targovishte is known as an old market settlement. Sredets ( bg, Средец ) is a town in Burgas Province in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located near Lake Mandrensko and the northern slopes of Strandzha. Sredets is the administrative centre of Sredets Municipality. Sredets Point on Smith Island, Antarctica is named after the town. History The Roman fortress of Kaleto, located 2 km southwest of Sredets, was constructed at the end of the fifth and beginning of sixth century AD.
