Commander Maria Hill ( ) is a fictional Character (arts), character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and David Finch (comics), David Finch, the character first appeared in ''The New Avengers (comics), The New Avengers'' #4 (March 2005). As a former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., she appears in various storylines which often feature the Avengers (comics), Avengers or members of that group. An American comic book is a thin periodical originating in the United States, on average 32 pages, containing comics. While the form originated in 1933, American comic books first gained popularity after the 1938 publication of ''Action Comics'', which included the debut of the superhero Superman. Sharon Blynn is an American actress and cancer activist. She founded her "Bald is Beautiful" organization for ovarian cancer awareness, and to empower women to define their beauty and wholeness for themselves on their own terms, in sickness and in health. Blynn is also known for portraying the Skrull character Soren in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Early life Blynn grew up in Miami, and moved to New York City to attend college at Barnard College/Columbia University, graduating from Columbia University with the first-ever undergraduate B.A. in Ethnomusicology. "Age of Ultron" (abbreviated AU) is a 2013 comic book fictional crossover storyline published by Marvel Comics that involved the conquest of the Earth by the sentient robot tyrant Ultron. The storyline consisted of an eponymous, 10-issue core miniseries, and a number of tie-in books. The storyline was published between March and June 2013 and featured a storyline by Brian Michael Bendis.
