Maria Christina Lindström
Maria "Mari" Christina Lindström (2 July 1806 – 28 March 1895 in Stockholm),Westlund, B. (1992). Stockholms gatunamn. Sverige: Kommittén för stockholmsforskning. was a Swedish Coffeehouse, coffee shop owner. She is known as the founder of the famous Tysta Mari café in Stockholm. She was known by her soubriquet ''Tysta Mari'' ("Silent Marie"), which became the name for her famous café. Life Mari Lindström was born in the Lindesberg Municipality. She settled in the capital as a girl, where she was employed as a serving girl at the Bianchini restaurant at Storkyrkobrinken in Gamla stan. She came up with the idea of founding a café focused on a female clientele. In 1834 she founded the first café for women in Stockholm, named ''Tysta Mari'', at the crossroads of Drottninggatan and Jakobsgatan. Tysta Mari
Tysta Mari was a famous coffee shop and restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden, known to be popular with artists, intellectuals and journalists. It was established in 1834 by Maria Christina Lindström (1806–1895) on the intersection of Jakobsgatan and Drottninggatan. The original Tysta Mari was closed in 1954, but a new coffee shop and restaurant with the same names was opened in 1974 on Östermalm. Storkyrkobrinken (, "Big Church Slope") is a street in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden. Leading from Högvaktsterrassen ("Main Guard Terrace") near the Royal Palace down to Myntgatan ("Coin Street") and Riddarhustorget ("Knight's House Square") it forms a parallel street to Salviigränd and Stora Gråmunkegränd and is crossed by Trångsund, Prästgatan, and Västerlånggatan. The street's present name stems from the vicinity to the cathedral Storkyrkan.
