Marharyta Tsishkevich
Marharyta Ryhorauna Makhneva, née Tsishkevich, be, Маргарыта Рыгораўна Махнева (Цішкевіч); Łacinka: Marharyta Ryhoraŭna Machnieva (Ciškievič); born 13 February 1992) is a Belarusian sprint canoeist. She won two gold medals at the 2015 World Championships (K-2 200 m and K-4 500 m) and the bronze medal in Women's K-4 500 metres at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She won a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Women's K-4 500 metres. Career Tsishkevich represented Belarus at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she competed only in two individual sprint kayak events. For her first event, the women's K-1 500 metres, she advanced directly into the semi-final rounds, after placing sixth in the heats, with a time of 2:01.216. She was disqualified from the second semi-final race for breaking the four-metre "centre-lane" rule. Khoiniki
Khoiniki ( be, Хойнікі, ; russian: Хойники; pl, Chojniki) is a town in Gomel Region, Belarus. It serves as the administrative center of Khoiniki District In 1986, the area around Khoiniki experienced heavy radioactive fallout from the Chernobyl accident; however, the city itself was not significantly affected. Today, the town hosts the headquarters of Polesie State Radioecological Reserve and employs over 700 people. The reserve itself is located south of the town in a heavily contaminated area. History According to historical records, Khoiniki was first mentioned in 1504 as a dependency in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The Belarusian Latin alphabet or Łacinka (from be, лацінка or łacinka, BGN/PCGN: ''Latsinka'', ) for the Latin script in general is the common name for writing Belarusian using Latin script. The 2013 Summer Universiade, officially known as the XXVII Summer Universiade (russian: XXVII Летняя Универсиада), was held in the city of Kazan, Russia, the most northerly city ever to host a Summer Universiade. Over 10,400 university athletes from 162 countries participated in 13 mandatory and 14 optional sports, making the 2013 Universiade the biggest ever in the history of the event. For the first time in history a Cultural Universiade was also included, with many festivals and shows held simultaneously with the sporting events. The Universiade was organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and by the authorities of the Russian Federation. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad".
