Margriet Van Den Broek
Margriet van den Broek (born 30 March 1974) is a Dutch wheelchair racer. She won the gold medal in the women's 800 metres T54 event at the 2018 World Para Athletics European Championships held in Berlin, Germany. She also won the silver medal in the women's 5000 metres T54 event and the bronze medal in the women's 1500 metres T54 event. In 2014, van den Broek won the silver medal in the women's 100 metres T54 event at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships held in Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom. In the same year, she also won the silver medal in the women's wheelchair race at the 2014 Berlin Marathon held in Berlin, Germany. In 2015, she won the bronze medal in both the women's 400 metres T54 and women's 800 metres T54 events at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships held in Doha, Qatar. 2017 London Marathon
The 2017 London Marathon was the 37th running of the annual marathon race in London, England, which took place on Sunday, 23 April. Mary Jepkosgei Keitany won the women's race, setting a new women-only marathon world record with a time of 2:17:01, while Daniel Wanjiru came first in the men's race in 2:05:48. David Weir (wheelchair athlete), David Weir claimed a record breaking seventh win at the London Marathon in the men's wheelchair event. The win broke a tie between Weir and Tanni Gray Thompson for the most wins at the London Marathon. Around 253,930 people applied to enter the race: 53,229 had their applications accepted and 40,048 started the race. These were all record highs for the race. 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships
The 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships was a track and field competition for athletes with a disability open to International Paralympic Committee (IPC) affiliated countries within Europe, plus Azerbaijan and Israel. It was held in Swansea, Wales and lasted from 18 to 23 August. The competition was staged at Swansea University Stadium. Approximately 550 athletes from 37 countries attended the games. Russia won the Games atop the medal table with 41 Gold medals, and also collected the greatest overall medal haul with 88. The host nation, Britain, finished third. Of the 37 competing nations, 34 managed to achieve a podium finish. There were seven world records set and a further seven European records, in a games that was beset by difficult weather conditions throughout the tournament. The 2020 London Marathon was the 40th running of the annual marathon race in London, United Kingdom, which took place on 4 October 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the race was postponed from 26 April and only allowed elite participants; the mass participation event was cancelled. The 2019 Tokyo Marathon ( ja, 東京マラソン 2019) was the thirteenth edition of the annual marathon race in Tokyo and was held on Sunday, 3 March. An IAAF Gold Label Road Race, it was the first World Marathon Majors event to be held that year. The men's race was won by Birhanu Legese in 2:04:48 hours (the second fastest time recorded in Japan) while the women's race was won by Ruti Aga in 2:20:40. The marathon race had a total of 37,604 starters. Male entrants outnumbered women by more than 3 to 1 (28,664 against 8,905), which was similarly reflected in the wheelchair division with its 26 men and 9 women. In terms of competitive standard, a total of 906 men and 555 women entered with a semi-elite personal best. The 2014 Berlin Marathon was the 41st edition of the Berlin Marathon. The marathon took place in Berlin, Germany, on 28 September 2014 and was the fourth World Marathon Majors race of the year. The men's race was won by Kenyan athlete Dennis Kimetto in a world record time of 2:02:57, breaking the previous record of Wilson Kipsang by 26 seconds.
