Margo (magician)
Margo is the screen and stage name of Margo Timon (née Tucker), a magic performer and actress who had a starring slot in the NBC network television special ''The World's Most Dangerous Magic II''. She worked with the duo The Pendragons. Life and career Margo is the offspring of an established magic family. Her mother is award-winning magician Frances Willard. Margo's father is Texan newspaper editor Glenn Tucker. Her younger sister Hannah is married to close-up magic specialist and lecturer Michael Ammar. As an assistant with The Pendragons, Margo appeared on ''The Tonight Show'' and the ''World Magic Awards''. In 1999 she was picked by producer Gary Ouellet to be one of the stars of the second of his ''World's Most Dangerous Magic'' specials. The World's Most Dangerous Magic was the title of two American television specials showcasing illusion and escapology acts, which were made for the NBC network. The first was originally broadcast on 27 April 1998 and the second, titled ''The World's Most Dangerous Magic 2'', was initially aired on 2 May 1999. The shows were the brainchild of producer Gary Ouellet and were made by the Gary L Pudney Company. They featured a combination of famous performers and lesser-known magicians, each performing stunts or illusions that were claimed to involve the risk of death or serious injury. While some stunts clearly involved genuine life-threatening danger should anything have gone wrong, the risk of injury in others was open to question. Predicament Escape
A predicament escape is any form of magic trick or escapology stunt in which the performer is trapped in an apparently dangerous situation and is required to escape from it. Classic examples include the Table of Death, Houdini's Chinese Water Torture Cell, Princess Tenko's escape from an exploding boat and the Upside Down Suspended Straitjacket escape, in which a performer is suspended high in the air from a burning rope. While many such feats are pure and simple escape acts performed for real, the predicament escape is also employed as a set-up or theme for certain illusions. These can end either with the performer emerging from the escape prop or appearing magically at another point in the performance space. Gary Ouellet (January 9, 1945 – June 8, 2002) was a French-Canadian television producer and magician who lived and worked in the United States. He may be best known as the driving force behind a number of network television specials that helped some of the top performers in modern magic to gain a national and international profile. He was also a lawyer and lobbyist. Life and career Born in Canada, Ouellet became interested in magic as a boy after receiving a toy magic set as a present. As a teenager, he performed a magic act that was the opening for headliners at a prominent cabaret venue in Quebec City.
