Margarita Sidorenko
Margarita Sidorenko (Russian: Маргарита Сидоренко, born 17 January 1988) is a Russian Paralympic archer. She won a gold medal in the mixed team recurve event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics The , branded as the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, was an international multi-sport parasports event held from 24 August to 5 September 2021 in Tokyo, Japan. They were the 16th Summer Paralympic Games as organized by the International Paralym ..., together with Kirill Smirnov, and placed ninth individually. She won three silver medals in the team recurve at the 2015–2017 world championships. Sidorenko has a degree in accounting from the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Trade and Economics. She became disabled after a traffic accident that damaged her spinal cord. She took up archery in 2012. Originally scheduled to take place from 25 August to 6 September 2020, both the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics were postponed by a year in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the rescheduled Games still referred to as ''Tokyo 2020'' for marketing and branding purposes. Archery at the 2020 Summer Paralympics was held at Dream Island Archery Park in Tokyo Bay Zone It consisted of 9 events (3 men, 3 women, 3 mixed teams). Kirill Smirnov (Russian: Кирилл Смирнов, born 2 April 1996) is a Russian Paralympic archer. He won a gold medal in the mixed team recurve event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics The , branded as the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, was an international multi-sport parasports event held from 24 August to 5 September 2021 in Tokyo, Japan. They were the 16th Summer Paralympic Games as organized by the International Paralym ..., and placed fifth individually. He won another gold medal in the team recurve at the 2017 World Championships. When he was 10 years old, Smirnov fell off a truck and lost his left leg. He first trained in equestrian before changing to archery in 2010.
