Margareta (missionary)
Margareta (c. 1369 – c. 1414) was a Swedish Sami people, Sami missionary. She was given permission by the Swedish crown to preach and convert her fellow Sami to Christianity. Her position was unique for her as both a Sami and a woman. Biography Margareta was an enthusiastic Christian who worked for the Christianisation of the Sami. It is not known how Margareta herself became a Christian. The name Margareta is not a Sami name and was likely given to her after she became a Christian. After having sought the assistance among the Swedish clergy, monk Philippus Petri in Stockholm gave her a letter of recommendation to Vadstena Abbey in April 1389. Petri praised her for her missionary work, described her difficulties and called her a tool of God in the same way as Bridget of Sweden, Saint Bridget, and recommended that the Bishop of Uppsala should assist her. Margareta Dockvil
Margareta Dockvil (died after 1673), was a Swedish hatmaker. She played an important role in the guild conflict between the hat makers and hat ornament makers of Stockholm, and was the cause of an important reform. She was married to the Elder Dockvil of the hatmaker's guild in Stockholm. When she was widowed, she inherited the guild privilege of her late spouse and continued his profession. In August 1673, she was one of the four members of the Hat maker's Guild elected as spokesperson when the National Board of Trade summoned representatives of the two guilds of hatmaker's (''hatmakare'') and milliners (''hattstofferare''), which had long been involved in a conflict as their trades was similar: the ''hatmakare'' made the hats themselves, but the ''hattstofferare'' provided the materials, manufactured the ornaments of the hats, and had the privilege of selling parts of hats. Margaretatop is a mountain in eastern Greenland. Administratively it is part of the Northeast Greenland National Park.Google Earth History At the time of Lauge Koch's 1949–51 expeditions this summit was named after Margareta Hediger by American geologist John Haller, a Fellow of the Geological Society of America. The peak is marked as "Margaretatopp" and "Margarita Spids" in some maps. ''Margaretasø'' is a small lake in neighboring Rendal at where the reflection of the mountain can be seen on its surface. This lake was named by John Haller after the same person. Geography Margaretatop is the highest point of Andrée Land. It is a roughly high peak that rises in the southwestern part of Andrée Land, east of the Rendal valley and northeast of the shore of the Isfjord, a northern branch of Kaiser Franz Joseph Fjord. Margareta "Maggie" Kozuch ( pl, Małgorzata Kożuch; born 30 October 1986) is a German female volleyball player who played for Atom Trefl Sopot, and previously played as a wing-spiker for TuS Berne Hamburg, CVMJ Hamburg, TV Fischbek (who changed their name to NA Hamburg), and Unicom Starker Kerakoll Sassuolo. She was Hamburg's sportswoman of the year in 2005. She represented the German women's national volleyball team in the FIVB World Grand Prix 2009. She was German sportswoman of the year in 2010.
