Margaret Saurin
Margaret Mary Saurin (born 3 January 1978) is an Irish former association football (soccer) player and coach. She played for the Republic of Ireland women's national football team, before playing and coaching soccer for multiple teams in the US. Playing career Club career Saurin started playing for Hamman Celtic, and in 1996, she joined Shamrock Rovers Ladies. She was part of the Shamrock Rovers team that won the 1997 Ladies FAI Cup, and lost the 1997 Dublin Women's Soccer League Final to Shelbourne Ladies. In 2000, she played for US USL W-League team Springfield Sirens, as one of five Irish players in the Sirens squad, and also for Fortuna Hjørring. From 2001 to 2002, Saurin played for Christian Brothers. She made 47 appearances for Christian Brothers, scoring 47 goals, and having 64 assists. National Collegiate Athletic Association
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It also organizes the athletic programs of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and helps over 500,000 college student athletes who compete annually in college sports. Dayton Flyers
The Dayton Flyers are the intercollegiate athletic teams of the University of Dayton of Dayton, Ohio. All Flyers intercollegiate sports teams participate at the NCAA Division I level. The football team competes in the Division I FCS non-scholarship Pioneer Football League, and women's golf plays in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, while all other sports compete in the non-football Atlantic 10 Conference. The Flyers name The name is a reference and homage to Daytonians Orville and Wilbur Wright who pioneered heavier than air flight. Horizon League
The Horizon League is an 11-school collegiate athletic conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, whose members are located in and near the Great Lakes region. The Horizon League founded in 1979 as the Midwestern City Conference. The conference changed its name to Midwestern Collegiate Conference in 1985 and then the Horizon League in 2001. The conference started with a membership of six teams and has fluctuated in size with 24 different schools as members at different times. The League currently has 11 members. Its most recent membership changes occurred on July 1, 2022 with the departure of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) to the Missouri Valley Conference. 2003 Algarve Cup
The 2003 Algarve Cup is the tenth edition of the Algarve Cup, an invitational women's football tournament hosted annually by Portugal. It was held from fourteenth to twentieth day of March 2003. The USA won the tournament defeating China, 2-0, in the final game. Format The twelve teams are divided into three groups that played a round-robin group stage, followed by one position play-off match for every team. With 12 teams participating, the Algarve Cup format has been as follows: Groups A and B, containing the strongest ranked teams, are the only ones in contention to win the title. Northern Ireland Women's National Football Team
The Northern Ireland women's national football team represents Northern Ireland in international women's football. Although most national football teams represent a sovereign state, FIFA statutes permit Northern Ireland as a member of the United Kingdom's Home Nations to maintain its own national side that competes in all major tournaments, with the exception of the Women's Olympic Football Tournament. The team were the lowest UEFA-ranked team (27th) to qualify for the European Championships Finals in England in 2022.
