Marfa Public Radio
Marfa Public Radio is a network of public radio stations serving the Big Bend region of Far West Texas. Headquartered in Marfa, Texas, it is a member of National Public Radio. Marfa Public Radio broadcasts on four frequencies in the Big Bend–flagship KRTS 93.5 FM in Marfa and full-time satellites KRTP 91.7 FM in Alpine, KDKY 91.5 FM in Marathon, and KOJP 95.3 FM in Presidio. Marfa Public Radio also operates KXWT, the NPR member for Odessa, Midland and the Permian Basin. The station features news and talk programming from NPR, plus local affairs and original music programs from the Big Bend. Marfa is a city in the high desert of the Trans-Pecos in far West Texas, between the Davis Mountains and Big Bend National Park. Marathon () is a census-designated place (CDP) in Brewster County, Texas, United States. The population was 470 in 2007, after growing from 455 in 2000, but had decreased to 430 by 2010. Davis Mountains
The Davis Mountains, originally known as Limpia Mountains, are a range of mountains in West Texas, located near Fort Davis, after which they are named. The fort was named for then United States Secretary of War and later Confederate President Jefferson Davis.
