Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais () is a commune in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region in western France. Geography The river Smagne forms part of the commune's eastern border, then flows into the Lay, which flows southwestward through the commune and crosses the village. The Lay () is a river in the Vendée ''departments of France, département'', western France. Its source is at Saint-Pierre-du-Chemin and it flows generally southwest. It flows into the Bay of Biscay between La Faute-sur-Mer and L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer, northwest of La Rochelle. Its main tributaries are the Yon (river), Yon and the Smagne.
