Marek Štěch
Marek Štěch (born 28 January 1990) is a Czech professional Association football, footballer who last played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for club Mansfield Town F.C., Mansfield Town. He began his career with local club AC Sparta Prague, Sparta Prague, spending four years in their youth system. In 2006, aged 16, Štěch signed for Premier League club West Ham United F.C., West Ham United for an undisclosed fee. Štěch had Loan (sports), loan spells with Wycombe Wanderers F.C., Wycombe Wanderers and AFC Bournemouth in 2009, but made only three appearances in total. The Premier Academy League (sometimes abbreviated as FAPAL) was the top level of youth football in England before it was to be replaced by a new league proposed by the Elite Player Performance Plan in 2012, which was accepted by the 72 member clubs of The Football League on 20 October 2011. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. Promotion and relegation is used by sports leagues as a process where teams can move up and down among divisions in a league system, based on their performance over a season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are sometimes called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in a lower division are ''promoted'' to a higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season.
