Marcos Gambus
Marcos Gambus (born 12 February 1934) is a Venezuelan former tennis player. Born in Tucupita, Gambus represented Venezuela at the 1955 Pan American Games in Mexico City. Gambus featured in three Davis Cup ties for Venezuela during his career, between 1958 and 1960. Two of those ties were against the United States and he lost all of these rubbers in straight sets. He fared better when Venezuela played against New Zealand in 1960, with a win partnering Isaías Pimentel in the doubles, which was preceded by a five-set singles loss to Lew Gerrard. In his only grand slam main draw appearance, Gambus fell in the first round of the 1960 U.S. National Championships to Gerald Moss. Gambus was a men's doubles silver medalist at the 1962 Central American and Caribbean Games, with Juan Notz Juan Notz (born 21 October 1939) is a Venezuelan former tennis player. Tucupita
Tucupita () is the capital city of the Venezuelan state of Delta Amacuro. Geography Delta Amacuro consists almost entirely of the swampy Orinoco River delta. Tucupita is hot and humid, and lies well into the delta on the Caño Manamo river (one of the two major branches of the Orinoco river delta). It is approached by a road which runs along the top of a barrier constructed in the 1960s to create dry land. The project is considered by many to be a failure since little dry land was created and massive ecological disruption was caused by salt water penetration of the delta. The delta is covered mostly by mangrove swamp but there is a huge range of other flora and fauna, making it one of the world's more ecologically diverse places. Significant amounts of oil have been discovered in the western parts of the delta and there is apprehension that exploitation of this oil will cause substantial ecological damage. Juan Notz (born 21 October 1939) is a Venezuelan former tennis player. Notz made his only Davis Cup appearance for Venezuela in his birth city of Caracas, against Ecuador in 1963. He lost the opening rubber of the tie to Eduardo Zuleta, before teaming up with Isaías Pimentel in the doubles to defeat Zuleta and Pancho Guzmán.
