Marcin Pochwała
Marcin Krzysztof Pochwała (born 14 February 1984) is a Polish slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2001. Career He won three medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold (Mixed C2: 2018), a silver (Mixed C2: 2019) and a bronze (C2 team: 2003). He also won seven silvers and two bronzes at the European Championships. Competing in four Summer Olympics in the C2 event, he earned his best finish of fifth in 2012 in London and again in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (both with Piotr Szczepański). He was 8th in 2008 and 10th in 2004 (both with Paweł Sarna). He has changed C2 partners several times during his career. He's had most success competing alongside Paweł Sarna (2001–2008) and Piotr Szczepański (since 2009). He was also partnered occasionally by Jarosław Miczek (2005) and Sławomir Mordarski (2006). Piotr Szczepański
Piotr Szczepański (born 31 July 1988 in Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą) is a Polish slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2004. He has competed in C1 and C2. His partner in the C2 boat since 2009 has been Marcin Pochwała. He won seven medals at the European Championships with six silvers and one bronze. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he competed in the C2 event together with Marcin Pochwała where they finished in 5th place in the final. European Junior And U23 Canoe Slalom Championships
The European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships is an annual international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the European Canoe Association (ECA). The Junior Championships were first held in 1995 and then every two years until 2003. The Under-23 Championships were first held in 2002 as part of the senior championships that year. Since 2004 the junior and U23 age categories are held annually together as part of the same event. Athletes under the age of 18 are eligible for the junior category. Canoeing At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's Slalom C-2
The men's C-2 slalom competition in canoeing at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place between August 13 and 15, 2008 at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park in Beijing. The C-2 (canoe single) event is raced by two-man canoes through a whitewater course. The finals were rescheduled from the 14th to the 15th due to persistent lightning at the Park. There were three rounds of competitions: the heats, the semifinal, and the final. In the heats, each canoeist completed two runs of the course. The time, in seconds, of each run was added to the number of penalty points assessed. Touching any of the 21 slalom gates resulted in a 2-second penalty for each gate touched, while skipping any of the gates resulted in a 50-second penalty. The total times for the two preliminary runs were summed to give a score for the heats. The top 12 boats advanced to the semifinals. The semifinals consisted of a single run. The men's canoe slalom C-2 competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place between 30 July and 2 August at the Lee Valley White Water Centre. Twenty-eight canoeists from 12 countries competed. Great Britain's Tim Baillie and Etienne Stott won the gold medal and David Florence and Richard Hounslow won silver. Twin brothers Pavol and Peter Hochschorner of Slovakia won the bronze. Competition format In the heats, each competitor had two runs; the 10 teams with the best time qualified for the semi-finals. The 2002 ICF World Junior Canoe Slalom Championships were the 9th edition of the ICF World Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships, ICF World Junior Canoe Slalom Championships. The event took place in Nowy Sącz, Poland from 9 to 11 August 2002 under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation (ICF).
