Marcin Koszałka
Marcin Koszałka (born 30 December 1970) is a Polish cinematographer and film director. In 1995 he began his studies in Cinematography and Photography at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice., from which he graduated in 2001. In 2014 for his work entitled "Obsession with death in images of my documentaries" he obtained a doctorate degree in film studies and is now a lecturer in this university. He is the author of cinematography for many significant works of contemporary Polish cinema and a member of the Polish and European Film Academy. He is also a director of documentaries and feature films, for which he writes scripts and is involved in the editing process. His auteur films have a unique style and often touch on issues close to his heart . His cinematography in films of his colleagues is characterized by maturity and elegance that are visible in each shot and by his artistic attention to detail. Marcin Wrona
Marcin Wrona (25 March 1973 – 19 September 2015) was a Polish film director. His film ''Demon (2015 film), Demon'' was shown at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. He debuted at the TIFF in 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, 2010, with ''The Christening'', and was also director of the Polish television series ''Medics (Polish TV series), Medics''. Wrona committed suicide by hanging in a hotel room on 19 September 2015 in Gdynia, while a film festival was taking place there. The International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography Camerimage () is a festival that celebrates and awards cinematography and cinematographers. The festival is held in Toruń, Poland, at the end of November every year. It spans the course of one week, with multiple events at one time. The first seven events (1993–1999) were held in Toruń, and the next ten events (2000–2009) were held in Łódź. From 2010 until 2018, the festival took place in Bydgoszcz, before returning to Toruń in 2019, where it currently remains. In 2007, the name of the festival was changed from Camerimage to Plus Camerimage, but it was changed back in 2013 after the sponsorship deal with Plus ended. Polish Film Awards
The Eagles Polish Film Awards, or The Eagles () is the national film award of Poland. It has been delivered annually since 1999, with the first event held on 21 June, by the National Chamber of Audiovisual Producers (KIPA). Since 2003 they have been awarded by the Polish Film Academy. The award ceremony is held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland. Their status in the Polish film industry can be compared with Academy Awards. The award depicts outstretched eagle's wings attached to a white socle twined by a ribbon which is reminiscent of a film stock. It was designed by Polish sculptor Adam Fedorowicz. The Vilnius International Film Festival (VIFF) Kino pavasaris is a film festival held annually in March in Vilnius, Lithuania since 1995, and is the largest film festival in the nation in number of films and audience.
