Marcella Russo (born 4 May 1969) is an Australian actress who is best known for playing Liljana Bishop in the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'' from 2003 until 2005, when her character was killed off in the The plane crash (Neighbours), Neighbours plane crash. Russo is a member of the band Lucy De Ville alongside her former Neighbours co-star Marisa Warrington. She had been in several other bands including ''Swallow'' and ''She Is Me''. She has previously appeared as Magenta in ''The Rocky Horror Show'' in 2004. Liljana Bishop
Liljana Bishop is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera '' Neighbours'', played by Marcella Russo. She made her first on-screen appearance on 9 October 2003. In May 2005, the character was written out and she departed on 25 October 2005 following a plane crash. Casting In May 2005, it was announced that three of the show's actors had been written out in a "surprise shake-up" of the cast. Russo was one of the three actors written out in favour of new cast members, the other two were Kevin Harrington ( David Bishop) and Marisa Warrington (Sindi Watts). ''Neighbours'' is an Australian television soap opera, which has aired since 18 March 1985. It was created by television executive Reg Watson. The Seven Network commissioned the show following the success of Watson's earlier soap '' Sons and Daughters.'' "The plane crash" is a storyline from the Australian television soap opera ''Neighbours'' that began on 24 October 2005 when an aeroplane, carrying several characters, crashed in Bass Strait after a bomb was detonated during the journey. The storyline aired as part of the show's 20th anniversary and would be the catalyst for several major storylines that aired the following year. "The plane crash" also saw the departures of three established characters: David ( Kevin Harrington), Liljana (Marcella Russo) and Serena Bishop (Lara Sacher). The actors' departures had been announced in May 2005, but it was not confirmed they would depart during "The plane crash" until their last scenes aired. Lucy De Ville were an Australian band from Melbourne. Its lineup consisted of Shaun Gardener, Marcella Russo, and Marisa Warrington, all of whom appeared in the television soap opera '' Neighbours''. Band members Marcella Russo is best known for her on-going performance as "Liljana Bishop" in '' Neighbours''. She is a well-known Adelaide performer who moved to Melbourne in 1995, working in both states in television, theatre, film, and radio and fronting many bands. Marisa Michelle Warrington is an English-Australian actress who played Sindi Watts on the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours''. Warrington as Sindi made her debut on ''Neighbours'' on a recurring basis in 2002. Sindi became a regular character in 2004, living with Susan Kennedy and dating Toadfish Rebecchi and then Stuart Parker (Neighbours), Stuart Parker. She was involved in a range of storylines, including Striptease, stripping and later on, prostitution, when she needed to pay for an operation to restore her boyfriend Stuart Parker (Neighbours), Stuart Parker's sight. The Rocky Horror Show
''The Rocky Horror Show'' is a musical with music, lyrics and book by Richard O'Brien.
