Marcel-André Casasola Merkle (born 10 August 1977 in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany) is a game designer. Until now, he published thirteen games and illustrated over 20. Together with other designers, he is active as a game editor since 1999 (amongst others for TransAmerica, 2002). He is co-founder (2000) of the publishing company Lookout Games Lookout Games is a German board and card game publisher. The company published, among other games, the board game Agricola, which was honored with the ''Complex Game'' award by the German Game of the Year jury in 2008. History The company was fou .... TransAmerica (board Game)
''TransAmerica'' is a railroad board game centered on the construction of railroad track in the United States. The game was created by Franz-Benno Delonge and developed by Team Annaberg. It is published in the United States by Rio Grande Games. In 2003 it was a Mensa Select recipient, and was nominated for the 2002 '' Spiel des Jahres'' award. Gameplay Setup The cities on the board are divided into five different regions with seven cities per region. These regions are denoted by circles of different colors. If there are two or three players, the ten cards with dashed circles are removed from play. These cities are the two most difficult to build to in each region. Each player selects one set of markers of the same color; a train for scorekeeping and a cylinder to mark the starting location. The train markers are placed on the thirteen on the score track. Lookout Games is a German board and card game publisher. The company published, among other games, the board game Agricola, which was honored with the ''Complex Game'' award by the German Game of the Year jury in 2008. History The company was founded in 2000 by Hanno Girke, Uwe Rosenberg and Marcel-André Casasola Merkle. By this time, especially Rosenberg was already well known for his card game Bohnanza, which was published by a major German game company. The first game of Lookout Games was a small card game called Attribut. The game was originally published online at the gaming website Brettspielwelt.
