Marc Waldie
Marc Robert Waldie (born August 24, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas) is a former volleyball player from the United States. He was a member of the United States national team that won the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Waldie played volleyball for Ohio State University. He was inducted to the Ohio State Hall of Fame in 2001. USA Volleyball (USAV) is a non-profit organization which is recognized as the national governing body of volleyball in the United States by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball.
