NetCast (later Smart TV, then Legacy Platform) is a proprietary firmware by LG Electronics that was preinstalled on their smart TVs between 2007 and 2014. LG has signed partnerships with various companies to provide services on the TV. It includes YouTube, AccuWeather, Orange Mobile, Maxdome, CinemaNow and Netflix. LG has combined local and global services to provide the most relevant content. In 2011, they added support for widgets, which users were able to download. Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. Foo Fighters was initially formed as a one-man project by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. Following the success of the eponymous debut album, Grohl (lead vocals, guitar) recruited a band consisting of Nate Mendel (bass guitar), William Goldsmith (drums), and Pat Smear (guitar). Sonic Youth
Sonic Youth was an American rock band based in New York City, formed in 1981. Milarepa Fund
The Milarepa Fund is an American non-profit organization that raises money for and promotes awareness of the Tibetan independence movement. History The Milarepa Fund was founded in May 1994, by musician Adam Yauch and activist Erin Potts. The fund was named after the 11th century Tibetan singer-yogi Milarepa, and was originally intended to distribute royalties from Yauch's Beastie Boys' 1994 songs "Shambala" and "Bodhisattva Vow", which had sampled the chanting of Tibetan monks, to support Tibetan independence. The first action for the fund was during the 1994 Lollapalooza tour. Because the Beastie Boys were co-headlining the tour, the Milarepa Fund set up information tents to pass out pro-Tibetan independence pamphlets throughout the tour. Beastie Boys were an American rap rock group from New York City, formed in 1978. The group was composed of Mike D, Michael "Mike D" Diamond (vocals, drums), Adam Yauch, Adam "MCA" Yauch (vocals, bass), and Ad-Rock, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz (vocals, guitar, Programming (music), programming).
