Marc Michel (February 10, 1929 – 3 November 2016) was a French-Swiss actor. He appeared in more than fifty films. He is best known for his roles in three seminal French films of the 1960s: Jacques Becker's ''Le Trou'' (1960), and two films by Jacques Demy: ''Lola'' (1961) and ''The Umbrellas of Cherbourg ''The Umbrellas of Cherbourg'' (french: Les Parapluies de Cherbourg) is a 1964 musical romantic drama film written and directed by Jacques Demy, with music and lyrics by Michel Legrand. Basse-Terre (, ; ; gcf, label=Guadeloupean Creole, Bastè, ) is a commune in the French overseas department of Guadeloupe, in the Lesser Antilles. It is also the ''prefecture'' (capital city) of Guadeloupe. The city of Basse-Terre is located on Basse-Terre Island, the western half of Guadeloupe.
