Maran is a town in Maran District, Pahang, Malaysia. Bandar Tun Razak, Jengka, Bandar Tun Abdul Razak, Jengka is located in outskirt of the town. Surrounded by isolated forest and oil palm plantations mainly in the area of FELDA Jengka, Maran town is roughly halfway between Temerloh and Kuantan. Economy Main economy activities in Maran is plantation mainly by the largest settlement of FELDA in Malaysia, the Jengka Settlement. Other economy activities are focuses on small enterprises in agriculture, farming and fishing. Maran is also famous among Hindus for the Sri Marathandavar Bala Dhandayuthapani Alayam temple, where devotees from all over the country and even Singapore come here to perform their rituals and prayers. Marang, Terengganu
Marang (est. pop. (2000 census): 4,896) is a town and the seat of Marang (district), Marang District, in the state of Terengganu, Malaysia. The town is located on the South China Sea coast on the Malaysia Federal Route 3, main highway between Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan. The main economic activity in Marang is fishery and tourism. Etymology The origin of the district's name is attributed to a Chinese people, Chinese entrepreneur of dried sea products known only by the name of Ma, who was one of the first settlers in the area. The sea products, consisting of fish and squid, are dried on racks called ''rang'' by the local populace. Rapid Kuantan (styled as ''rapidKuantan'') is a corporate brand owned by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad ( Prasarana) to operate stage bus services in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. It was launched on 1 December 2012. It currently has a fleet of 80 Scania K-series buses and operates a total of 16 routes.
