Maple Leaf Trot
The Maple Leaf Trot is a harness race for Standardbred trotters three years of age and older. It is run at a distance of one mile at Mohawk Racetrack in Campbellville, Ontario. Locations *Thorncliffe Park Raceway : (1950-1953) * Old Woodbine / Greenwood Raceway : (1954-1993) *Woodbine Racetrack : (1994-2001) *Mohawk Racetrack : (2002–present) First run as the Maple Leaf Cup Trot on August 3, 1950 at Thorncliffe Park. In 1954 Standardbred the race was moved to the Old Woodbine track. Renamed the Greenwood Raceway in 1963, the race remained there until the track closed in 1993. From 1994 through 2001 Woodbine Racetrack was home to the Maple Leaf Trot after which it shifted to its present location at Mohawk Raceway. Campbellville, Ontario
Campbellville is a compact rural community in the geographic township of Nassagaweya in the Town of Milton, Regional Municipality of Halton, Ontario, Canada. It is on the Niagara Escarpment and is a tourist destination for residents of the Greater Toronto Area. History Campbellville is named for John Campbell, who settled there in 1832. A saw mill was later built. A tavern was opened in 1847 by Mr. Priest. A hotel was also located in the early settlement, which burned down around 1930. The first store and post office were noted in 1849, located in William Campbell's home and operated by Malcolm Campbell. Campbelleville was incorporated as a police village in 1914. Intimidate (harness Racing)
Intimidation is to "make timid or make fearful"; or to induce fear. This includes intentional behaviors of forcing another person to experience general discomfort such as humiliation, embarrassment, inferiority, limited freedom, etc and the victim might be targeted based on multiple factors like gender, race, class, skin color, competency, knowledge, wealth, temperament, etc. Intimidation is done for making the other person submissive (also known as cowing), to destabilize/undermine the other, to force compliance, to hide one's insecurities, to socially valorize oneself, etc. There are active and passive coping mechanisms against intimidation that include, and not limited to not letting the intimidator cross your personal space, addressing their behavior directly, avoiding the person, being gingerly around them, honing breakaway skills, etc. Victims of intimidation would reasonably develop apprehension, experience fear of injury or harm, etc from the unwanted behaviors or tools of ... Ake (or Aké in Spanish orthography) is an archaeological site of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. It's located in the municipality of Tixkokob, in the Mexican state of Yucatán; 40 km (25 mi) east of Mérida, Yucatán. The name ''Ake'' is a toponym that means "place of reeds" in Yucatec Maya. One notable feature of the site is its system of pre-Columbian ''sacbeo'ob'' or roads that facilitate access with other settlements in the region. Timothy A. Tetrick, born November 22, 1981, in Flora, Illinois, is an American Harness Racing driver. Tim started driving Standardbreds at a very young age and on November 27, 2007, broke the record of number of wins (1,077) in a single year. Tim drove his 1,078th winner at Dover Downs in Delaware on the way to recording 1,189 wins that year. Class of the 2020 USHWA Hall of Fame! Tetrick won the 2012 Hambletonian Stakes with his horse Market Share. He won his 8,000th career race in March 2014. He was voted Harness Tracks of America Driver of the Year for 2007, 2008, 2012, and 2013 by the US Harness Writers Association.
