Maor Melikson
Maor Melikson (or Melicsohn, he, מאור מליקסון; born ) is an Israeli former association footballer who played as a winger for the Israel national team. As a result of injury he announced his retirement on 1 January 2020. Early life Melikson was born in Yavne, Israel, to Ashkenazi Jewish parents. His father was born in Romania, whereas his mother was born in Legnica, Poland, and both immigrated to Israel separately at young age. He also holds a Polish passport, on account of his mother's birthplace. Club career Israel Born in Yavne, Melikson started in the youth department of Maccabi Yavne. During the 2001–02 season, he made his senior debut in Liga Alef in a match against Ironi Ramat HaSharon. The 2010–11 Ekstraklasa was the 77th season of the highest level of football leagues in Poland since its establishment in 1927. It began on 6 August 2010 and concluded on 29 May 2011. Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. History League football started in Israel in 1949–50, a year after the Israeli Declaration of Independence.
