Mao Zhiyong (; November 1929 – 4 March 2019) was a People's Republic of China politician. He was born in Yueyang, Hunan. He was Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary (1977–1988), governor (1977–1979) and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Committee Chairman (1977–1979) of his home province. Zhang Pinghua (; April 1908 - July 23, 2001), born to a Hakka family in Yanling County, Hunan, China, was a Chinese politician. His former name was Zhang Chucai (). He joined the Chinese Communist Party in November 1927. He took part in the Northern Expedition and the "Long March" of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. After 1949, Zhang worked as a local officer in Hubei, Hunan, and Shanxi one after another. Wu Guanzheng
Wu Guanzheng (born August 11, 1938), also spelled as Wu Kuan-cheng is a former Chinese politician and one of the major leaders of the Chinese Communist Party during the administration of Hu Jintao. He served on the Politburo Standing Committee, the country's top ruling body, from 2002 to 2007. During that time he also served as the Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Chinese Communist Party, the party's anti-graft body. He had a lengthy political career, having served as mayor of Wuhan, Governor then Party Secretary of Jiangxi, then party chief of Shandong. Wu retired in 2007 and left public life. Wan Shaofen (; born August 1930) is a retired Chinese politician who served as Communist Party Secretary of Jiangxi Province from 1985 to 1988, the first female provincial-level party chief of the People's Republic of China. Her career was closely tied to that of Hu Yaobang. She was persecuted during the Cultural Revolution because of her association with Hu, rose to prominence after he became General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party in 1982, and lost her position as party chief of Jiangxi after Hu's downfall in 1987.
