Mao Shimada
is a Japanese figure skater. She is the 2022 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, a two-time ISU Junior Grand Prix gold medalist, the 2022 Japanese national bronze medalist, and a two-time Japanese junior national champion (2021–2022). She is the twenty-first woman in history to have successfully landed a triple Axel jump in competition. Personal life Shimada was born on 30 October 2008 in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan. Her mother was a fan of Japanese figure skater Mao Asada and named Shimada after her. She enjoys dancing, bowling, and cooking. As of March 2021, she graduated from Okubo Elementary School and currently attends Hirono Junior High School. 2022–23 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2022–23 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 25th season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It is the junior-level complement to the 2022–23 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters compete for medals in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance, as well as for qualifying points. The top six from each discipline will qualify for the 2022–23 Junior Grand Prix Final, to be held together with the senior final. Competitions The locations of the JGP events change yearly. 2021–22 Japan Figure Skating Championships
The 2021–22 Japan Figure Skating Championships were held in Saitama, Saitama on December 22–26, 2021. It was the 90th edition of the event. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. The results were part of the Japanese selection criteria for the 2022 Four Continents Championships, the 2022 Winter Olympics, and the 2022 World Championships. Toe Loop Jump
The toe loop jump is the simplest jump in the sport of figure skating. It was invented in the 1920s by American professional figure skater Bruce Mapes. The toe loop is accomplished with a forward approach on the inside edge of the blade; the skater then switches to a backward-facing position before their takeoff, which is accomplished from the skater's right back outside edge and left toepick. The jump is exited from the back outside edge of the same foot. It is often added to more difficult jumps during combinations and is the most common second jump performed in combinations. Quad (figure Skating)
A quad, or quadruple, is a figure skating jump with at least four (but fewer than five) revolutions. All quadruple jumps have four revolutions, except for the quadruple Axel, which has four and a half revolutions. The quadruple toe loop and quadruple Salchow are the two most commonly performed quads. Quadruple jumps have become increasingly common among World and Olympic level men's single skaters, to the point that not performing a quad in a program has come to be seen as a severe handicap. This phenomenon is often referred to as the "quad revolution". Since 2018, quadruple jumps have also become an increasingly common feature of women's skating, although they are not allowed under the ISU rules in the ladies' short program. 2020 NHK Trophy
The 2020 NHK Trophy was the sixth event in the 2020–21 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at Osaka Prefectural Kadoma Sports Center (Towa Pharmaceutical Ractab Dome) in Osaka, Japan on November 27–29. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, and ice dance. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of modifications were made to the Grand Prix structure. The competitors consisted only of skaters from the home country, skaters already training in the host nation, and skaters assigned to that event for geographic reasons. Rino Matsuike
is a Japanese figure skater. She is a two-time ISU Grand Prix bronze medalist and finished fifth at the 2022 Four Continents Championships, winning a small bronze medal for her free skate. She is also the 2022 International Challenge Cup Champion. On the junior level, she is the 2020–21 Japanese junior national champion and the 2019 JGP Latvia bronze medalist. Hana Yoshida
is a Japanese figure skater. She is the 2022 JGP Italy champion, the 2022 JGP France champion, the 2022 Bavarian Open Junior champion, the 2022 Egna Spring Trophy champion, the 2019 Japanese Junior National bronze medalist, and the 2020 Japanese Junior National silver medalist. Yoshida is the nineteenth woman to successfully land a triple Axel in international competition. Career Early years Yoshida began skating in 2012. Bowling

is a Japanese former competitive figure skater.
