Manuel Sánchez Delgado
Manuel Sánchez Delgado (born 17 January 1965), known as Manolo, is a Spanish retired professional footballer who played as a striker. Over nine seasons, he amassed La Liga totals of 292 matches and 96 goals, mainly with Atlético Madrid with whom he won two major titles. He also competed at that level with Murcia. Manolo represented Spain at the 1990 World Cup. Club career Born in Cáceres, Extremadura, Manolo grew up in the ranks of local CP Cacereño, making his senior debut with the club at the age of 17. After two years with CE Sabadell FC, the last in the Segunda División, he moved to Real Murcia in the same level, helping it promote to La Liga in the 1985–86 season then scoring 11 goals in 36 appearances the following campaign, with the team retaining their top-flight status. Cáceres, Spain
Cáceres ( , ) is a city and Spanish municipality located in the center of the autonomous community of Extremadura. It is the capital and most populated municipality of the province of Cáceres and houses the headquarters of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura. The 1991–92 La Liga season was the 61st since its establishment. It began on 31 August 1991, and concluded on 7 June 1992. After the penultimate game, Real Madrid led by 1 point and needed to win away to Tenerife, managed by their former player Jorge Valdano, to seal the title. Despite taking a 2-0 lead, Madrid lost 3-2. In Spanish Association football, football, the Pichichi Trophy () is awarded by the sports newspaper ''Marca (newspaper), Marca'' to the top goalscorer of each La Liga season. Named after the Athletic Bilbao striker Pichichi (footballer), Rafael "Pichichi" Moreno, the trophy has been awarded annually since the 1952–53 La Liga, 1952–53 season. All top scorers who preceded the award's creation were retroactively named Pichichi winners by ''Marca''. Since the 2014–15 season, the top scorer of the women's Liga F is also awarded the Pichichi Trophy. Paulo Jorge dos Santos Futre (; born 28 February 1966) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a left winger. Widely considered as one of the best players of his generation, after starting his professional career with Sporting CP, he moved to Porto – winning the 1987 European Cup – after which he embarked in an extensive professional career, having represented clubs in Spain, France, Italy, England and Japan, most notably Atlético Madrid.
