Manuel Cavazos Lerma
Manuel Cavazos Lerma (born 12 March 1946 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas) is a Mexican politician and economist from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), who served as governor of Tamaulipas from 1993–1999. Biography Cavazos Lerma was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas on 12 March 1946; son of Manuel Cavazos Rodríguez and Clara Lerma Sánchez. He studied Economics in the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (1963–1968), where he has served as a professor. Political career He has been within the Institutional Revolutionary Party since 1972, where he formed part of the representative in the states of Tamaulipas and Durango for the PRI. He was president of the Nacional Committee League for Revolutionary Economists (1982–1984), and served as the delegate for the PRI party in the states of San Luis Potosí, Baja California, Coahuila, Jalisco and Yucatán. Governor Of Tamaulipas
This is a list of governors of Tamaulipas since it became a Political divisions of Mexico, state of Mexico in 1822, it includes the list of governors of Nuevo Santander (New Santander) the name of the Spanish province in northeast New Spain before the Mexican War of Independence, which included present-day Tamaulipas and South Texas. Jalisco

''The Monitor GTLO'' is a newspaper in McAllen, Texas that covers Starr and Hidalgo counties. It circulates about 36,000 copies daily, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations. It was owned by Freedom Communications until 2012, when Freedom papers in Texas were sold to AIM Media Texas. The Monitor's Spanish-language sister paper, '' La Frontera'', shut down in 2009. It shares content with the ''Valley Morning Star'' and ''The Brownsville Herald.'' Both are also owned by AIM Media Texas. Both its former publisher, M. McAllen–Hidalgo–Reynosa International Bridge
The McAllen–Hidalgo–Reynosa International Bridge is a road bridge completed in 1926, crossing the Rio Grande between the state of Tamaulipas in northeastern Mexico and the state of Texas in the southwestern United States. Route The Hidalgo Texas Port of Entry is associated with the bridge that connects the cities of Hidalgo and McAllen in Texas to the city of Reynosa in Tamaulipas. The road bridge has two spans, north and south bound, of four lanes each. This bridge has a SENTRI Lane. Jurisdictions The American portion of the bridge is within Hidalgo, but is operated-maintained by the larger city of McAllen to the north. It is one of the largest operations undertaken by McAllen to date. Gilberto Lerma Plata
Gilberto Lerma Plata (born 1962/1963) is a Mexican former police chief and convicted drug lord. He began his career in 1993 as a police officer in the Tamaulipas State Police when his cousin Manuel Cavazos Lerma became Governor of Tamaulipas. Lerma Plata was eventually promoted to police commander in Reynosa and Miguel Alemán. In the late 1990s, while still working for the police, Lerma Plata joined the Gulf Cartel, a criminal group based in Tamaulipas, for whom he facilitated drug trafficking operations from Mexico to the US, coordinated cash smuggling operations, and aided in the procurement of firearms. In 2011, Lerma Plata was indicted by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia for cocaine and marijuana trafficking, but the indictment remained initially sealed in court. Los Zetas (, Spanish for "The Zs") is a Mexican criminal syndicate, regarded as one of the most dangerous of Mexico's drug cartels.
