Manuel Burga Seoane
Manuel Burga Seoane (born October 13, 1957) is a Peruvian lawyer and former soccer manager. He was president of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) from 2002 until 2014. Early life and education In 1987 Burga graduated as a lawyer and became a manager of the Metropolitan Soccer Region in 1990. In 1991, he was appointed interim president of the FPF, but resigned on February 7, 1992, just 35 days after his appointment. Career On 4 October 2002, Burga was elected president of the FPF. In 2007 Manuel he was reelected as president of the FPF. On 17 December 2010, Burga was reelected as president of the FPF for a third period. In October 2014, Burga announced his candidacy for a fourth term, but he got disqualified because of growing criticism. Peruvian Football Federation
The Peruvian Football Federation ( es, Federación Peruana de Futbol or ) is the body that governs Association football in Peru. It was founded on August 23, 1922, and affiliated in 1924. A member of CONMEBOL since 1925, it directly oversees the Peru national football team, the Copa Federación, and the amateur leagues. It is indirectly involved in the organization of the Primera División (today Torneo Descentralizado), the Peruvian Primera División Femenina and Segunda División. It is headquartered in the Villa Deportiva Nacional (VIDENA) on Aviación Avenue 2085 in San Luis, Lima. Renzo Reggiardo
Renzo Andrés Reggiardo Barreto (born 1 July 1972) is a Peruvian politician from Popular Renewal, businessman and a former Congressman representing the constituency of Lima for two terms, between 2006 and 2016. In 2018, he ran unsuccessfully for Mayor of Lima in the local elections. Leading most of the polls throughout the entire campaign, his absence in the mayoral debate caused him to finish in third place in the election with 8.9% of the popular vote, losing to Jorge Muñoz Walls of the Popular Action. Biography He is the son of the Italian-Peruvian Fujimorist politician Andrés Reggiardo. He graduated from the University of San Martín de Porres. 2015 FIFA Corruption Case
In 2015, United States federal prosecutors disclosed cases of corruption by officials and associates connected with the Fédération internationale de Football Association ( FIFA), the governing body of association football, futsal and beach soccer. Near the end of May 2015, fourteen people were indicted in connection with an investigation by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI) into wire fraud, racketeering, and money laundering. The United States Attorney General simultaneously announced the unsealing of the indictments and the prior guilty pleas by four football executives and two corporations. The investigation revolved around collusion between officials of continental football bodies CONMEBOL (South America) and CONCACAF (Caribbean, Central and North America), and sports marketing executives.
