Manu Louis
Manu Louis is a Belgian musician, singer-songwriter, and composer, influenced equally by pop, jazz, 8-bit electronica, and 20th-century classical music. Career In 2017 he released his debut album, ''Kermesse Machine'', on Igloo Records. The album is a mix of found sounds, instrumentation, and vocal samples that are influenced by pop, classical, experimental music and jazz. The album artwork was made by Welsh photographer Jason Evans. The tour following the release saw Louis performing solo more than 150 times in 22 different European countries, as well as China and Japan,. Jason Evans (born 1968) is a Welsh photographer and lecturer on photography. His best known work is ''Strictly'', a series of portraits of young black men dressed as "country gents" made in collaboration with stylist Simon Foxton, and which were acquired for the permanent collection of the Tate Gallery, in 2004. Life and work Jason Evans was born in Holyhead, Wales, in 1968. Royal Conservatoire of Liège The Royal Conservatoire of Liège (RCL) ( French Conservatoire royal de Liège, Dutch Koninklijk Conservatorium Luik) is one of four conservatories in the French Community of Belgium that offers higher education courses in music and theatre. Located at 29 Piercot Forgeur in the city of Liège, the school's principal building was built in 1887 using a neoclassical design by architects Louis Boonen and Laurent Demany. Inside the building is a large concert hall, the Salle philharmonique de Liège, which has recently been entirely renovated. The hall is the major performance venue for the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège. The RCL was founded in 1826 by William I of the Netherlands. Frederic Anthony Rzewski ( ; April 13, 1938 – June 26, 2021) was an American composer and pianist, considered to be one of the most important American composer-pianists of his time. His major compositions, which often incorporate social and political themes, include the minimalist ''Coming Together'' and the variation set '' The People United Will Never Be Defeated!'', which has been called "a modern classic". Early life and education Rzewski was born on April 13, 1938, in Westfield, Massachusetts, to parents of Polish and Jewish descent, and raised Catholic.
