''Manthrika Kuthira'' () is a 1996 Malayalam crime thriller film directed by Viji Thampi, starring Manoj K. Jayan, Vani Viswanath and Mohini in the lead roles.The film ran more than 30 days in theatres. Plot The film start with a police squad led by Circle Inspector Venugopal adventurously arresting Kondotty Jaffar, who is wanted for murder and the rape of four women. Public prosecutor Sunny Kuruvilla manages to get Jaffar convicted. On being sentenced to 40 years in prison, Jaffar threatens to murder Sunny and his family. Viji Thampi is an Indian film director, actor and social activist who works in Malayalam films. Thampi is a member of Thiruvananthapuram regional board of the Central Board of Film Certification and the State Advisor of Kerala Kshetra Samrakshana Samithi. Vani Viswanath (born 13 May 1971) is an Indian actress who predominantly appeared in Malayalam and Telugu films. K. N. Jagannatha Varma (1 May 1939 – 20 December 2016) was an Indian actor who worked in Malayalam film and television industry. He was also a Kathakali artist. His son Manu Varma is also an artist and his son-in-law Viji Thampi is a film director. He acted in a number of Malayalam movies performing stereotypical roles of a senior police officer, judge or a priest. Some of his noted roles were in movies ''New Delhi'' (1987), Thanthram (1988), ''Lelam'' (1997) and ''Pathram'' (1999), all directed by Joshiy.
