Manitoba Provincial Road 264
Provincial Road 264 (PR 264) is a north–south highway in the Westman and Parkland Regions of Manitoba, connecting Crandall, Decker, Kelloe, Rossburn, and Silver Beach. Route description PR 264 begins in the Prairie View Municipality at an intersection with PTH 24 in the community of Crandall. It heads north as a paved two-lane highway to travel along the eastern side of town before transitioning to gravel and heading north to have a junction with PR 469. The highway crosses the Arrow River as it begins straddling the Hamiota Municipality border, travelling through Decker, where it has an intersection with PR 355. PR 264 goes through a switchback as it enters the Rural Municipality of Yellowhead, continuing north through rural farmland for several kilometres to cross the Arrow River a final time before having a junction with PTH 42. Crandall, Manitoba
The Rural Municipality of Miniota is a former rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was originally incorporated as a rural municipality on December 22, 1883. It ceased on January 1, 2015 as a result of its provincially mandated amalgamation with the RM of Birtle and the Town of Birtle to form the Prairie View Municipality. The former RM of Miniota is located on the Assiniboine River and encompassed the separately administered Birdtail Sioux First Nation. The 2011 Canadian census, the last one performed while the RM of Miniota existed, showed a population of 871, the lowest recorded in its history; the peak population had been 2,593 in the 1921 Canadian census. The declining population directly resulted in the RM of Miniota ceasing as an RM, as the 2015 amalgamation formed 47 new administrative units by merging the 107 Manitoba rural municipalities that had populations lower than 1,000 each. Riding Mountain National Park
Riding Mountain National Park is a national park in Manitoba, Canada. The park is located within Treaty 2 Territory and sits atop the Manitoba Escarpment. Consisting of a protected area , the forested parkland stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding prairie farmland. It was designated a national park because it protects three different ecosystems that converge in the area; grasslands, upland boreal and eastern deciduous forests. It is most easily reached by Manitoba Highway 10, Highway 10 which passes through the park. Provincial Trunk Highway 45 (PTH 45) is a provincial highway in the southwest region of the Canadian province of Manitoba. It runs from PTH 16 and PTH 83 in the town of Russell to PTH 10 north of the village of Erickson. Yellowhead Highway
The Yellowhead Highway (french: Route Yellowhead) is a major interprovincial highway in Western Canada that runs from Winnipeg to Graham Island off the coast of British Columbia via Saskatoon and Edmonton. It stretches across the four western Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba and is part of the Trans-Canada Highway system and the larger National Highway System, but should not be confused with the more southerly, originally-designated Trans-Canada Highway. The highway was officially opened in 1970. Beginning in 1990, the green and white Trans-Canada logo was used to designate the roadway. The highway is named for the Yellowhead Pass, the route chosen to cross the Canadian Rockies. The pass and the highway are named after a fur trader and explorer named Pierre Bostonais. Provincial Trunk Highway 16 (PTH 16) is a provincial highway in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is the Manitoba section of the Yellowhead Highway, and also the Trans-Canada Highway Yellowhead section. The main purpose of this highway is to connect Winnipeg with other Canadian cities such as Saskatoon and Edmonton. The highway runs from Bloom at an intersection with the Trans-Canada Highway and Provincial Road 305 west of Portage la Prairie to the Saskatchewan boundary west of Russell, where it continues as Saskatchewan Highway 16. The highway is two lanes through Manitoba, with two small divided sections at the north and south junctions with PTH 10 around Minnedosa, which it runs in concurrence with just west of the town.
