Manitoba Highway 7
Provincial Trunk Highway 7 (PTH 7) is a provincial primary highway located in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It runs from the northern limit of the city of Winnipeg (where it meets with Route 90/Brookside Blvd.) north to Arborg, Manitoba where it intersects with PTH 68. The highway is twinned from Winnipeg to just north of PTH 67, an east-west route that provides access to the Town of Stonewall. Route description PTH 7 begins in the Rural Municipality of Rosser at the Winnipeg city limits at an intersection with Mollard Road, with the road continuing south into Winnipeg as Winnipeg Route 90 (Route 90 / Brookside Boulevard). It heads north as a 4-lane divided Highway to immediately have a cloverleaf interchange with PTH 101 (North Perimeter Highway) just shortly before crossing into the Rural Municipality of Rockwood. Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure () is the provincial government department responsible for managing infrastructure in Manitoba. It is in charge of "the development of transportation policy and legislation, and fthe management of the province’s vast infrastructure network." Manitoba Infrastructure was initially known as Public Works, which changed to Government Services in 1968, when the province expanded the department to include the provision of common services for other governmental departments. In 2016, the department name would be changed to its current one. Winnipeg () is the capital and largest city of the province of Manitoba in Canada. Silver, Manitoba
Silver is an unincorporated community in the province of Manitoba, Canada. It is located approximately south of Arborg within the Rural Municipality of Armstrong. Silver began as a Canadian Pacific Railway point in 1911 and was named after N. T. Silver, a contractor who shipped wood from the location. In its heyday, Silver was host to a few general stores. Cord wood and grain were the primary resources shipped by train, and passenger services included a morning train south to Winnipeg and a night train north to Arborg. Manitoba Highway 17
Provincial Trunk Highway 17 (PTH 17) is a provincial highway in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It runs from a junction with PR 325 near Hodgson to a junction with PTH 9 near Winnipeg Beach. PTH 17 is signed as a north-south route from PR 325 to PTH 7 at Teulon and an east-west route from PTH 7 to PTH 9. The majority of the route is paved, with a gravel section between PTH 8 and PTH 9. The speed limit is except through urban areas. The route near Narcisse can be very dangerous as thousands of snakes cross PTH 17 to get to/from the Narcisse Snake Dens. As snakes are run over by vehicles, the road becomes very slippery. A series of 'garter-snake fences' were built in this area to protect both the snakes and vehicle traffic.
