Manipur Football Team
The Manipur football team is an Indian football team representing Manipur in Indian state football competitions including the Santosh Trophy. Khuman Lampak Main Stadium
The Khuman Lampak Main Stadium is a multi-use stadium located in Imphal, Manipur, India. It is used mostly for football and athletics, and host matches of Manipur State League. The stadium holds 35,285 people and was built in 1999. This stadium lies inside the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex. The stadium's record attendance was set in a football match between NEROCA FC and Indian Arrows (2–1; 2017–18 I-League season), with 35,285 people in attendance (5 January 2018). Gift Raikhan
Gift Raikhan (born 25 May 1981) is an Indian retired footballer who played as a left-back, and football manager who last managed NEROCA. He also managed Manipur football team in Santosh Trophy. Playing career During a playing career which spanned six seasons, Raikhan played for BMFC, Churchill Brothers, HAL, Indian Bank, Vasco, BEML, and Pune. He even played in the I-League. His favorite moment of his career was during the 2000 Rovers Cup when he scored for BMFC against Churchill Brothers which helped secure his move to the club. Coaching career After retiring in 2007, Raikhan joined the Youth System at Pune. From 2008 to 2010 Raikhan was assistant to Norbert Gonsalvez in coaching the u17 and u15 teams. In 2011, he was promoted to head coach of the Pune F.C. Academy U20 side and in 2012 led the team to a championship by finishing first in the 2012 I-League U20. Santosh Trophy
The Santosh Trophy, officially known as Hero Senior Men's National Football Championship due to sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp, is a state-level football competition contested by the state associations and government institutions under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the sport's governing body in India. Before the starting of the first national club league, the National Football League in 1996, the Santosh Trophy was considered the top domestic honour in India. Many players who have represented India internationally, played and gained honour while playing in the Santosh Trophy. The tournament is held every year with 37 teams, who are divided into five zones, must play in the qualifying round and progress into the tournament proper. 2022–23 Santosh Trophy
The 2022–23 Santosh Trophy is the 76th edition of the Santosh Trophy, the premier competition in India for senior men's football teams representing their respective states/union territories and government institutions. Contrary to the recent seasons, this edition onwards, the AIFF adopted a new format for the tournament that saw the removal of the qualification stage, thereby allowing all the state teams to participate in the group stage. This move taken in a way for promoting the sport in every region of the country. On 6 October 2022, the AIFF signed a MoU with the SAFF, which included an agreement to host the semi-finals, the 3rd place decider & the final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 2010–11 Santosh Trophy
The 65th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2010-11 was held in Assam, India, 6–30 May 2011. 31 teams were divided into eight clusters with last year's semi-finalists (West Bengal, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Goa) directly finding their place in the Groups Quarterfinal round. The Preliminary Round matches were held from 6 to 16 May, while the quarter final round matches took place from 17 to 24 May. The first semi-final was held on 26 May, while the second semi-final will be played on 27 May with grand finale being held on 30 May. Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy
The Sub Junior National Football Championship, also known as Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy, is an Indian football tournament for players under 16 years of age. The competition is held every year between the under-16 teams representing states of India. The tournament was started in 1977 for boys under the age 15 years. The tournament was constituted at the Darjeeling meeting of the AIFF on 12 June 1976. AIFF donated the trophy in the memory of former President of Karnataka State Football Association, Mir Iqbal Hussain. From the 2009–10 season onwards, the championship has been sponsored by Coca-Cola and was rechristened as the Coca-Cola MIHT for a period of three years. Churachand Singh Trophy, also known as the Churachand Singh Invitation Trophy (Sir Churachand Singh Memorial Football Tournament), is an annual Indian football tournament held in Manipur and organized by All Manipur Football Association (A.M.F.A). History The tournament was first started in 1950 and is named after Manipur's Maharaja Churachand Singh. At its every inception, the Tournament had been organised by the Manipur Sports Association (MSA). With the amalgamation of Manipur Sports Association and Manipur Olympic Association in 1954, the Tournament came under the management of All Manipur Football Association. Apart from some top clubs from Manipur, clubs from neighbouring states also have participated. Assam Rifles have won the tournament for a record nine times.
