Manila Nomads Sports Club (women)
The Manila Nomads Sports Club, or simply the Nomads Sports Club or the Manila Nomads, is a sports club which organizes a women's teams. Its football team participates in the PFF Women's League, the women's domestic national league of the Philippines. Background The Manila Nomads organizes a women's football team which was known as the Nomads StretchMarks. The "StretchMarks" name was coined from the name of Mark Hartmann, the first coach of the team and the fact that the team composes mostly of mothers. They have participated in at least 15 competitions and has joined the Weekend Football League in 2011. PFF Women's League A women's team organized by the club participated in the 2019–20 season of the PFF Women's League. PFF Women's League
The PFF Women's League (PFFWL) is the top-flight of women's association football in the Philippines. History To follow up with the PFF Women's Cup which was launched in 2014, the PFF Women's League was launched on November 5, 2016, by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF). The competition became the first to follow a league format following the folding of the Pinay Futbol League in 2013 and became the first women's domestic league in the country. The league sanctioned by PFF as an amateur league as part of ''FIFA's Women's Development Project'' for the Philippines. Prior to the league's establishment, the primary competition for women's football in the Philippines was the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). 2023 PFF Women's League
The 2023 PFF Women's League season (also known as the Coca-Cola PFF Women’s League for sponsorship reasons) is the fourth season of the women's national league of the Philippines following the 2019–20 season. De La Salle University, which topped the 2019–20 season league table, are the defending champions. The Far Eastern University meanwhile are entering the season as the 2022 PFF Women's Cup winners. With De La Salle eliminated in the semifinals for this 2023 season, there will be a new champion. The league has got sponsorship from Coca-Cola in July 2023. Format Initially planned to be a double round-robin format, the league changed to a single round-robin with the top four teams entering a knockout tournament to determine the league's champion. Mark Andrew Calibjo Hartmann (born January 20, 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward or an attacking midfielder for Thai League 2 club Nakhon Si United and the Philippines national team. 2019–20 PFF Women's League
The 2019–20 PFF Women's League season is the third season of the women's national league of the Philippines following the 2018 season. De La Salle University is the defending champions. Format The league adopted a double round-robin format with a projected 90 matches to be played from July 27, 2019. The primary venue for the league's matches is the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona, Cavite. Matches will be usually held in the weekends with select matches to be held during the weekdays. The league's first round ran until mid-October 2019 with the second round beginning on October 19, 2019. Though initially planned to last until December 2019, the league season's duration was extended to the following year with the first matches of 2020 to be held on January 11, 2020.
