Mangyongdae Funfair
The Mangyongdae Funfair( ko, 만경대유희장) is an amusement park located in Mangyongdae-guyok, 12 kilometres from Pyongyang, North Korea. It has an area of 70 hectares including a funfair and wading pool. In autumn 2011 the funfair was reported to have little or no Korean patronage. It has been alleged that there is a lack of genuine customers with many visitors being bussed in to the attraction. It had a roller coaster, which, while operational, was in poor repair. There is a merry-go-round and a ridable miniature railway. The dismal atmosphere and run-down condition of the funfair were severely criticized by Kim Jong-un, during an inspection in May 2012. Kim Jong-un ordered Choe Ryong-hae, Director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, and others, to spruce up the funfair and bring it into compliance with the requirements of the Sŏn'gun era. Kaeson Youth Park
The Kaeson Youth Park ( ko, 개선청년공원) is an amusement park located in Pyongyang, North Korea. The park, located near the Kim Il Sung Stadium and in the west foot of Moran Hill was opened in 1984, the park was opened as part of the Triumphal Arch dedication. It included a carousel, fun house and amusement park rides like the Ferris wheel, comprising an area of . In April 2010 the park was renovated, after which it was visited by Kim Jong Il. It was reported that riding all 10 amusements in the park costs 1,600 won. A flying roller coaster, imported from Italy, opened in 2010. As of 2013, the rides on offer also included bumper cars, teacups, a swing ride and a double shot-like vertical drop. It has grown to feature statistics and pictures of over 10,000 roller coasters from around the world. Korean Folk Village
Minsok village (Korean Folk Village) is a living museum type of tourist attraction in the city of Yongin, a satellite city in the Seoul Metropolitan Area in the province of Gyeonggi in South Korea. It was first opened on October 3, 1974 (ground breaking in 1973 and completion in 1974). Korean Folk Village is a popular tourist destination for both Koreans and foreigners, located near South Korea's largest amusement park, Everland. Real houses from across the country were relocated and restored to create a replica of a village from the late Joseon period. Events such as celebrating seasonal changes and traditional performances are held in KFV. The village is set up in a natural environment occupying approximately 245 acres. North Hwanghae Province
North Hwanghae Province (Hwanghaebuk-to; , lit. "north Yellow Sea province") is a province of North Korea. The province was formed in 1954 when the former Hwanghae Province was split into North and South Hwanghae. The provincial capital is Sariwon. The province is bordered by Pyongyang and South Pyongan to the north, Kangwon to the east, Kaesong Industrial Region and South Korea's Gyeonggi Province to the south, and South Hwanghae southwest. In 2003, Kaesong Directly Governed City (''Kaesong Chikhalsi'') became part of North Hwanghae. Later on in 2019, it was promoted as Special City (''Kaesong T'ŭkpyŏlsi''). Sariwŏn () is the capital of North Hwanghae Province, North Korea. Population The city's population as of 2008 is 307,764. Pyongyang Folklore Park
The Pyongyang Folklore Park ( ko, 평양민속공원) was an amusement park located in Pyongyang, North Korea, at the foot of Mount Taesong. It was built with a historical theme, and construction began in December 2008. There are also folk parks in Sukchon, South Pyongan Province and Sariwon, North Hwanghae Province. South Korean folk parks with an historical theme such as Korean Folk Village are popular attractions. Tourists rarely visited the park. When tourists did visit, they were usually part of organized tours. The park was shut down for renovations in June 2016. News reports speculated that the facility reminded Kim Jong-un of his uncle, Jang Sung-taek, who managed the project before his execution in 2013. In 2016, satellite imagery showed that the park had been demolished. Mount Taesong
Taesŏngsan is a mountain in Taesong-guyok, Pyongyang, North Korea. It has an elevation of . One popular visitor attraction on Taesŏngsan is the outdoor ice rink.
