Mangala Devi KannagiTemple
Mangaladevi Kannagi Temple is an ancient historic temple located in the Idukki District of Kerala bordering Tamil Nadu, about 15 km from Thekkady in Idukki district and 7 km from Pazhiyankudi in Theni district. The temple is built by Chera dynasty at its peak stage, paying honour to Kannagi, who reached historic land of Cheranadu from Madhurai. The temple is located in dense forest of Periyar tiger reserve in Kerala. Visitors are allowed in the temple premises only on Chitrapournami festival, once in a year. People could reach the destination only through the pass in the forest which is rich in green and visual beauty of the forest. The temple is a blending of various religious sects like Sakthism, Saivism and Sramana religions with basic Dravidian religion. Siddhartha Gautama, most commonly referred to as the Buddha, was a wandering ascetic and religious teacher who lived in South Asia during the 6th or 5th century BCE and founded Buddhism. Sabarimala Temple
The Sabarimala Temple (; ml, ശബരിമല ക്ഷേത്രം) is a temple complex located at Sabarimala hill inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve in the Perinad Village, Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, India. It is one of the largest annual pilgrimage sites in the world with an estimate of over 10 to 15 million devotees visiting every year. Sambandar
Sambandar (Tamil: சம்பந்தர்), also referred to as Tirugnana Sambandar (lit. ''Holy Sage Sambandar''), Tirujnanasambanda, Campantar or Jñāṉacampantar, was a Shaiva poet-saint of Tamil Nadu who lived sometime in the 7th century CE. He was a child prodigy who lived just 16 years. According to the Tamil Shaiva tradition, he composed an of 16,000 hymns in complex meters, of which 383 (384) hymns with 4,181 stanzas have survived. These narrate an intense loving devotion (''bhakti'') to the Hindu god Shiva. Maravar
Maravar (also known as Maravan and Marava) are a Tamil community in the state of Tamil Nadu. These people are one of the three branches of the Mukkulathor confederacy. Members of the Maravar community often use the honorific title ''Thevar''. They are classified as an Other Backward Class or a Denotified Tribe in Tamil Nadu, depending on the district.
