Eustachio Manfredi
Eustachio Manfredi (20 September 1674 – 15 February 1739) was an Italian mathematician, astronomer and poet. Biography Eustachio Manfredi was born in Bologna on 20 September 1674. He attended Jesuit school, then studied at the University of Bologna, graduating with a degree in law in 1691. At the same time he devoted himself to scientific studies in mathematics and astronomy, and to literature. Manfredi founded the ''Accademia degli Inquieti'' (Academy of Unquiet) in Bologna around 1690 as a place where scientific topics could be discussed. At first, the Academy held its meetings in Manfredi's house. After four years it moved to Jacopo Sandri's house, which had more space, and in 1705 moved again to the palazzo of Conte Luigi Ferdinando Marsigli. The ''Accademia delle Scienze dell'Istituto di Bologna'' was formally inaugurated in 1714, and the ''Accademia degli Inquieti'' merged into it. Ercole Manfredi
Ercole Pietro Manfredi (2 July 1883 – 9 June 1973) was an Italian architect who lived and worked in early twentieth-century Siam (now Thailand). Born in Turin, Italy, he attended the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts before travelling to Bangkok, where he was one of many Westerners employed by the Siamese government. He made significant career progress through the court of King Vajiravudh, but left government office to work privately as the country was going through political change which abolished absolute monarchy and decreased government employment of foreigners. However, by adopting a Thai identity and way of life, marrying a Thai woman and settling down permanently, Manfredi remained a relevant and respected figure in Thai architecture, and later became a lecturer at Chulalongkorn University. Isabella "Izzi" Rubi Manfredi (born 1987) is an Australian pop singer, songwriter and activist from Sydney, New South Wales. The Manfredi were a noble family of northern Italy, who, with some interruptions, held the seigniory of the city of Faenza in Romagna from the beginning of the 14th century to the end of the 15th century. Bartolomeo Manfredi (baptised 25 August 1582 – 12 December 1622) was an Italian painter, a leading member of the Caravaggisti (followers of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio) of the early 17th century. Life Manfredi was born in Ostiano, near Cremona. He may have been a pupil of Caravaggio in Rome: at his famous libel trial in 1603 Caravaggio mentioned that a certain Bartolomeo Cristofori, accused of distributing scurrilous poems attacking Caravaggio's detested rival Baglione, had been a servant of his. Giuseppe Manfredi
Giuseppe Manfredi (17 March 1828–11 June 1918) was an Italian professor, jurist, and politician. He was president of the Italian Senate in the early 20th century. Among his honors, he was made Supreme Knight of the Order of the Holy Annunciation on 4 February 1909. Early life and education Manfredi was born 17 March 1828 in Cortemaggiore, at the time part of Duchy of Parma and Piacenza. His parents were Domenico and Paola Enrichetta Fogliazzi Manfredi and he had a brother, Enrico, and a sister, Maria Anna. Leaving his home, Manfredi attended a Jesuit high school in Piacenza. Gabriele Manfredi (25 March 1681 – 13 October 1761) was an Italian mathematician who undertook important work in the field of calculus. Early years Gabriele Manfredi was born in Bologna, then in the Papal States, on 25 March 1681. He was the son of Alfonso Manfredi, a notary from Lugo, Emilia-Romagna, and Anna Maria Fiorini. His elder brother Eustachio studied law, then turned to science. Gabriele and his brother Eraclito studied medicine, while his fourth brother Emilio became a Jesuit preacher. Astorre II Manfredi
Astorre II Manfredi (8 December 1412 – 12 March 1468) was lord of Imola from 1439 and of Faenza from 1443. He was born in Faenza, the son of Gian Galeazzo I Manfredi. Apart Faenza and Imola, he was Papal vicar at Fusignano and other lands in Romagna together with his brother Gian Galeazzo II Manfredi, Gian Galeazzo II. He also fought as captain for several local rulers. In 1431 he married Giovanna da Barbiano, daughter of the famous condottiero Alberico da Barbiano. The Preatures
The Preatures were an Australian indie rock band from Sydney, New South Wales, who formed in 2010. The band consisted of lead vocalist and keyboardist Isabella "Izzi" Manfredi, guitarist and vocalist Jack Moffitt, bassist Thomas Champion, and drummer Luke Davison. Vocalist and guitarist Gideon Bensen was a member of the band until 2016. In 2013, the Preatures won the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition with their song " Is This How You Feel?" They disbanded in 2021, following the launch of Manfredi's solo career. Career Champion and Moffitt were school friends at Newington College, Sydney, and they met Manfredi at the Australian Institute of Music in 2008. They formed a band together and in 2010, added Luke Davison and Gideon Bensen, calling themselves The Preachers. Francesco I Manfredi
Francesco I Manfredi (died May 29, 1343) was the lord of Faenza from 1313 until his death. He was the son of Alberghetto (or Alberghettino) Manfredi, one of the main Guelph leader of Romagna, from whom he inherited the lordships of Brisighella, Quarneto, and Baccagnano, to which Francesco added other lands starting from 1309. He was ''capitano del popolo'' of Faenza from 4 January 1313 and of Imola from 9 November 1314. In 1319 he became absolute lord of both cities, being ousted in 1327. He was able to regain briefly Faenza in 1340–1341, maintaining subsequently the title of patrician of the city. He married Rengarda Malatesta, daughter of Malatesta I Malatesta of Rimini. Girolamo Manfredi or Hieronimus de Manfredis (1430–1493) was an Italian philosopher, physician and astronomer. He lived and worked in Bologna, becoming a notable citizen.
