Mandinga (album)
''Mandinga'' is the only album recorded by Projeto Mandinga, the band created by Fred Andrade and Ebel Perrelli. Released in 2002, the album counts with Helio Silva as bassist and also counts on the participation of other famous artists, such as Naná Vasconcelos and Dominguinhos. Fred Andrade
Fred Andrade is a Brazilian musician and composer. Active in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, he has played with Elba Ramalho, Quinteto Violado, Heraldo do Monte, Naná Vasconcelos, Lula Queiroga, Dominguinhos, and Lenine. He was also member of the instrumental groups Mandinga and Noise Viola. Biography Fred Andrade composed the soundtrack for ''Festival de Cinema Nacional''. In 2000, he recorded his debut album, named ''Ilusões a granel''. Ebel Perrelli
Ebel Perrelli is a Brazilian composer and musician. He has worked with Lenine (musician), Lenine, Naná Vasconcelos, Chuck Silverman, Manu Katché, and Jonathan Mover. He was a member of Mallavoodoo, BPM Trio, and Mandinga. Biography Ebel Perrelli started playing drums when he was teenager in a school band. His first studies were based on ''Stick control'' method, by George Lawrence Stone. He continued his studies in the Conservatório Pernambucano de Música and in 1993 he graduated from the Musicians Institute of London, after completing the One Year Diploma Course. He then became a teacher in the same conservatory where he studied and started his musical career, playing with many artists and bands of Pernambuco. In 1996, Perrelli joined the band Mallavoodoo with Thales Silveira (bass), Mário Lobo (keyboards and saxophone), and Alexandre Bicudo (guitar). Naná Vasconcelos
Juvenal de Holanda Vasconcelos, known as Naná Vasconcelos (2 August 1944 – 9 March 2016), was a Brazilian percussionist, vocalist and berimbau player, notable for his work as a solo artist on over two dozen albums, and as a backing musician with Pat Metheny, Don Cherry, Björk, Jan Garbarek, Egberto Gismonti, Gato Barbieri, and Milton Nascimento. Biography Vasconcelos was born in Recife, Brazil. Beginning from 1967 he joined many artists' works as a percussionist. Dominguinhos
José Domingos de Morais (12 February 1941 – 23 July 2013), better known as Dominguinhos, was a Brazilian composer, accordionist and singer. His principal musical influences were the music of Luiz Gonzaga, Forró and in general the music of the Sertão in the Brazilian Northeast. He further developed this typical Brazilian musical style, born out of the European, African and Indian influences in north-eastern Brazil, creating a unique style of Brazilian Popular Music. He has performed with musicians such as Luiz Gonzaga, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa (with whom he toured in Midem), Zé Ramalho, Toquinho, Elba Ramalho, Yamandu Costa, and Maria Bethânia.
