Manchester School District
Manchester School District is a school district headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire. It is the largest school district in the state, according to the Associated Press. History Circa 2003 Hooksett contracted with Manchester to educate its high school students. It was intended to last until 2023. Previously Bedford had an agreement with the district so that students were sent to Manchester West High School. Beginning in fall 2007 Bedford stopped sending new students to Manchester West, so it could instead send them to Bedford High School. By fall 2009 Bedford no longer sent any levels to Manchester West. In 2011, the town of Auburn, which previously contracted with Manchester School District and sent the majority of its students to Manchester Memorial High School, voted to change its high school to Pinkerton Academy in Derry, with 1,119 in favor and 190 opposing. Manchester is a city in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. It is the most populous city in New Hampshire. At the 2020 census, the city had a population of 115,644. Manchester is, along with Nashua, one of two seats of New Hampshire's most populous county, Hillsborough County. Manchester lies near the northern end of the Northeast megalopolis and straddles the banks of the Merrimack River. It was first named by the merchant and inventor Samuel Blodgett, namesake of Samuel Blodget Park and Blodget Street in the city's North End. The ''Derry News'' is a newspaper based and published in Derry, Northern Ireland. History It was first published in February 2001. The newspaper changed hands in the summer of 2006, when a consortium including River Media and the ''Irish News'' acquired the title from the McCarroll family. Candia, New Hampshire
Candia is a town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 4,013 at the 2020 census. The town includes the villages of Candia, Candia Four Corners and East Candia. History Settled in 1743, Candia was once part of Chester and known as "Charmingfare", probably because of the many bridle paths or "parades" through the pleasant scenery. Charmingfare was incorporated in 1763 and named Candia "in compliment to Governor Benning Wentworth, who was once a prisoner on the island of Candia (an alternative ancient name of Crete since its Venetian domination), in the Mediterranean Sea."
