''Manbox'' is the collaborative efforts of both Christopher Browder of Mansions and Brian Warren of Weatherbox. The EP was recorded over the internet between the two musicians. There were 200 hand-painted CD-R copies made of the release. Mansions is an American indie rock band from Louisville, Kentucky, currently residing in Seattle, Washington. The group has performed and toured with Hellogoodbye, William Beckett, A Great Big Pile of Leaves, The Honorary Title, The Front Bottoms, I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business, Look Mexico, Bayside, Now, Now, Paper Rival, Taking Back Sunday, The Get Up Kids, Pianos Become the Teeth, and La Dispute (band). History Early years (2007-2008) In 2007, they released their first full-length, eponymous album through Sophomore Lounge Records. It was completely self-produced, and includes early versions of several songs which were rerecorded for later releases. Weatherbox is an American indie rock band from San Diego, California, United States, led by singer/songwriter Brian Warren and currently composed of Warren and varied touring members. ''New Best Friends'' is the official debut album by Mansions. The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Mike Sapone ( Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Straylight Run). Mastering by Fred Kevorkian (Willie Nelson, The Apples In Stereo, Maroon 5, Joseph Arthur, The National, and more). The physical copy of the album includes a bonus-disc known as "The EP Initiative", a compilation album containing tracks from seven different EP's released throughout 2008 through very limited formats. The album was also pressed to vinyl by Sophomore Lounge Records, with only 250 copies made. Thyme Travel
''Thyme Travel'' is a rare EP released by Mansions in 2009. The music is performed primarily solo, with just vocals and an acoustic guitar. Only 190 copies were made. The tracks "Unwell", "All Those Dreams", and "Lost In Space" were recorded while vocalist Christopher Browder was house-sitting for his parents in Louisville, Kentucky. "Family Dinner Week" was written while Browder played in a band called "Once More". Reception Because ''Thyme Travel'' was such a limited release, very few professional reviews were written about it. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock".
