Manasy Veetinal
Manasy Veetinal is an Indian actress who works in Malayalam films. She has won the P. A. Backer Foundation Award for Best Debutant Actress for her role in the 2012 Malayalam language film Pratheekshayode that deals with the challenges of child labour. Biography Manasy was born and brought up in Bahrain to a Christian Malayali family that originally hails from Mavelikara, Kerala. She attended the Indian School, Bahrain and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Videography and Mass Communication at Mar Ivanios College, Thriuvananthpuram under the University of Kerala. During her school years, she won accolades in acting, dancing and other performance arts including award for Best Actress at the age of fourteen in the BKS Drama Festival 2004-05, in which she played the female lead in a drama based on Vaikom Muhammad Basheer's Poovan Pazham. "Poovan Pazham" ( ml, പൂവൻപഴം ; en, italic=yes, Poovan Banana) is a short story written by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer and published in 1948 in the collection '' Viddikalude Swargam'' (Fool's Paradise). It is one of the most popular of Basheer's stories. It was adapted into a telefilm of the same name by P. Balachandran. Plot summary The story is about Abdul Khader Sahib and his wife Jamila Beebi. Jamila is a B.A. degree holder, while Abdul Khader who is the rowdy of the town has only studied up to school final. Abdul Khader married Jamila, despite objections from their parents and the community, after confessing his love for her. Vaikom Muhammad Basheer
Vaikom Muhammad Basheer (21 January 1908 – 5 July 1994), popularly referred to as Beypore Sulthan, was a writer of Malayalam literature. He was a writer, humanist, freedom fighter, novelist and short story writer, noted for his path-breaking, down-to-earth style of writing that made him equally popular among literary critics as well as the common man. His notable works include '' Balyakalasakhi'', ''Shabdangal'', ''Pathummayude Aadu'', ''Ntuppuppakkoranendarnnu'', ''Mathilukal'', ''Janmadinam'' and ''Anargha Nimisham'' and the translations of his works into other languages have earned him worldwide acclaim.
