Mamun Chowdhury
Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury ( bn, মামুনুর রশিদ চৌধুরী; born November 1961) is a Bangladeshi-born British businessman, and founder and co-director of London Tradition. Early life Chowdhury is of Bangladeshi origin from the village of Moynabad of Chunarughat in Habiganj, Sylhet District, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). Having completed his education in Bangladesh, after a short period in the Middle East, Mamun arrived in London in December 1991. From 1993 to 2013, he lived in Poplar, Tower Hamlets before moving to Redbridge. Career In 1994, Chowdhury began his career in the United Kingdom establishing London Clothing Limited, importing ready-made garments from Bangladesh and selling to clients in the UK and rest of Europe. This was supported by setting up his own factory to manufacture garments in the UK. Chunarughat Upazila
Chunarughat ( bn, চুনারুঘাট) is an Upazila of Habiganj District in the Division of Sylhet, Bangladesh. Geography Chunarughat is located at . It has 43660 households and total area 495.52 km2. History Rajapur (Tekarghat) in Chunarughat was the capital of the Hindu kingdom of Tungachal. Raja Achak Narayan was its final Hindu ruler who was defeated in the Capture of Taraf in 1304. Tungachal was renamed Taraf and its first Muslim ruler was Syed Nasiruddin, who is buried in the famous Murarband Dargah Sharif. Syed Shah Israil wrote the Persian book ''Ma'dan al-Fawaid'' in 1534, is considered to be Sylhet's first author.
