They formed after Lenie was invited to join Anjali, Ella, Andrea and Delia - who were all living together (bar Delia) in a squat in Islington - to form a band. They became part of a vibrant music scene in the early 1990s which centered around three indie labels in London at the time, namely Clawfist, Too Pure and Wiiija. Their sound was a mixture of garage, punk, and pop and they had links to British riot grrrl bands such as Huggy Bear. Charley Stone
Charley Stone is an English multi-instrumentalist musician based in London, UK. She has been a notable part of the London indie music scene since the early 1990s. History Charley Stone first came to notice in short-lived riot grrrl band Frantic Spiders, from Exeter, who released EP ''You're Dead'' in 1993; she also played in Toxic Shock Syndrome. Stone then joined Britpop band Salad in 1996. In 1997 she replaced Charlotte Hatherley on guitar in the band Nightnurse after Hatherley left to join Ash. In 1998 Stone joined Gay Dad as guitarist and also first played live with Fosca, as she would continue to do over the next decade. Stone also joined Linus as bass player. Curve were an English alternative rock and electronic music duo from London, formed in 1990 and split in 2005. The band consisted of Toni Halliday (vocals, occasionally guitar) and Dean Garcia (bass, guitar, drums, programming). Echobelly are a British rock band, debuting in 1994 with their album '' Everyone's Got One''. They were often compared to Blondie and The Smiths; Morrissey becoming a fan of the group. The most prominent part of Echobelly's success formula was vocalist Sonya Madan, who was also the group's lyricist. Born in Delhi, India, before moving to England at the age of two, Madan had an unusual background for a pop star. Debbie Smith is a British guitar and bass player who has been in several bands from the 1990s to the present, including Curve, Echobelly, Nightnurse, Snowpony, Bows, Ye Nuns, SPC ECO and current bands Blindness and The London Dirthole Company. Smith was interviewed for the 1995 book ''Never Mind the Bollocks: Women Rewrite Rock'' by Amy Raphael (published in the US as ''Grrrls: Viva Rock Divas''). The Monks

Cornershop are a British indie rock band best known for their single "Brimful of Asha", originally released in 1997 and, in a remixed version, topping the UK chart in 1998. Wat Tyler (band)
Wat Tyler were an English punk/novelty band of the late 1980s and 1990s, fronted by Sean Forbes alongside Simon Tucker and Smithy. The band were known for their eclectic style, political commentary, surreal humour, and inside jokes, and produced a number of EPs and albums on different labels, including their own Rugger Bugger imprint and Lookout! Records. Wat Tyler evolved from early 1980s anarcho-punk band 4 Minute Warning, and were performing gigs by 1986. Debut EP ''Contemporary Farming Issues'' was released in 1989 and included "Hops and Barley", later covered by and a live favourite for Leatherface. "Can't Stand Me Now" is the first single from English rock band the Libertines' self-titled second album. The song was their biggest hit, and peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart and number 28 on the Irish Singles Chart. In the United Kingdom, it is their second highest-selling single after "Don't Look Back into the Sun". History The song was written by Carl Barât and Pete Doherty with Mark Keds (also known as Mark Myers and credited on this track as Mark Hammerton) who was previously in a number of bands including Senseless Things, the Wildhearts and Jolt.
