Mount Levack
Mount Levack () is the mountain rising to 2751 m in Sullivan Heights on the east side of Sentinel Range, Antarctica. It is located 21 km (13 mi) east of Mount Ostenso, and overlooks Pulpudeva Glacier to the southwest and lower Ellen Degenieres to the north. Its ridge is separated from Mount Farrell to the south by Zmeevo Pass and overlooks Strinava Glacier to the east-southeast. The peak was first mapped by USGS from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1957–59. Named by US-ACAN for Major Herbert T. Levack, United States Air Force (USAF), who participated in establishing the South Pole Station in the 1956–57 season. Antarctic Place-names Commission
The Antarctic Place-names Commission was established by the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute in 1994, and since 2001 has been a body affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria. The Commission approves Bulgarian place names in Antarctica, which are formally given by the President of the Republic according to the Bulgarian Constitution (Art. 98) and the established international practice. Bulgarian names in Antarctica Geographical names in Antarctica reflect the history and practice of Antarctic exploration. The nations involved in Antarctic research give new names to nameless geographical features for the purposes of orientation, logistics, and international scientific cooperation. The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) is an interdisciplinary body of the International Science Council (ISC). SCAR coordinates international scientific research efforts in Antarctica, including the Southern Ocean. SCAR's scientific work is administered through several discipline-themed ''science groups''. Roberts Peak
Roberts Peak () is a peak (1,800 m) in the south extremity of Maglenik Heights, standing on the north side of Ellen Glacier and 10 km east of Mount Jumper in central Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains. It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) in 1996 after Carol A. Roberts, Deputy Director, Office of Polar Programs, National Science Foundation, 1988–96, who represented U.S. research interests on behalf of the National Science Foundation within the Antarctic Treaty system. Mount Jumper
Mount Jumper () is a mountain high located east of Mount Viets in the central part of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica. Debren Pass separates it from the side ridge descending via Evans Peak. The mountain overlooks Ellen Glacier to the north and east, and its tributaries Patton Glacier and Rumyana Glacier to the south and northwest respectively. Mount Jumper was first mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos from 1957 to 1959, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Major Jesse T. Jumper of the United States Air Force who participated in establishing the South Pole Station in the 1956–57 season. Mount Bearskin () is a mountain (2,850 m) located 5 nautical miles (9 km) northeast of Mount Tyree, between Patton and Crosswell Glaciers, in the Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains. It is linked to Tyree Ridge by Podgore Saddle. The mountain was mapped by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1957–59. Georgi Mamarchev
Georgi Mamarchev ( bg, Георги Мамарчев; 1786 – 16 July 1846) was a Bulgarian fighter against the Ottoman rule and a captain in the Imperial Russian Army. Mamarchev was the uncle of the Bulgarian revolutionary Georgi Sava Rakovski. Due to the merits of Mamarchev and out of respect for his work, Rakovski took the name of his uncle. Mamarchev was the mastermind of the Bulgarian Conspiracy of 1835. Ellen Glacier
The Ellen Glacier is a glacier in the central Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains of Antarctica. It drains the eastern slopes of Mount Anderson and Long Gables and flows generally southeast for to Barnes Ridge, where it leaves the range and enters the south flowing Rutford Ice Stream. It was first mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1957–59, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Lieutenant Colonel Cicero J. Ellen of the U.S. Air Force, who was in command of many of the air operations when the South Pole Station was established by air drop in the 1956–57 season. Pulpudeva Glacier
Pulpudeva Glacier ( bg, ледник Пулпудева, lednik Pulpudeva, ) is the long and wide glacier in Sullivan Heights, Sentinel Range in Ellsworth Mountains, Antarctica. It is draining the area northeast of Nebeska Peak, north of Johnson Col and northwest of Mount Farrell, flowing northwards west of Mount Levack, and (together with Crosswell and Patton Glaciers) joining Ellen Glacier northwest of Mamarchev Peak and southeast of Mount Jumper.
